By Travis Wilson

The New Holstein Huskies have been selected as the Week 3 WSN Football Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team pulled off a late victory to open Eastern Wisconsin Conference play. The Huskies were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 3. A total of 4,953 votes were cast, as New Holstein's 1,470 votes edged Kettle Moraine's 1,267 votes.

With less than a minute left in the game, Matt Steier found Ely Kohlman for a nine yard touchdown and Trent Roehrig booted through the extra point as New Holstein came back to defeat Valders 21-20. The game was back-and-forth the whole way, with neither team leading by more than one score at any time. Both Erick Burns and Brice Haendel reached the century mark on the ground for the Huskies, who are 3-0 on the year.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 4 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
