Below are the rSchoolToday Athlete of the Week Nominees for this week. Voting is open until Thursday at 2:00 pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Athlete of the Week Nominees: September 4-10

Julia Erdmann, Oak Creek

The Oak Creek girls volleyball team took home a first place finish at the 30-team Kettle Moraine Invite this past week with the biggest of assists from Erdmann. The junior setter put her teammates in the best position all weekend recording 189 assists over eight matches for the Knights. Erdman added 29 digs, eight aces, seven blocks and four kills as Oak Creek went 7-1 and beat Fox Valley Lutheran in the championship. Earlier in the week she had 13 assists in a 3-0 sweep of conference foe Racine Horlick.

Addison Foor, Aquinas

Foor was electric as Aquinas went undefeated this past week, including a first place finish at the Middleton Invitation over the weekend. To begin her week, the junior hitter recorded twelve kills, nine digs three aces and a block in a 3-0 conference sweep of La Crosse Logan. The Blugolds then went to Middleton where they went 4-0 and took home a first place medal. Foor accumulated 45 kills, 19 digs, seven aces and three blocks on the day.

Payton Haugen, Brookfield East

Haugen took home a pair of medalist honors this past week as she is excelling in her sophomore season of gold. Haugen began her week by shooting a 71 and winning the individual title at the University Ridge Invitational held at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison. Haugen's 71 was two strokes better than the second place finisher and it helped the Spartans to a third place team finish. Haugen then shot a 31 and won the third Greater Metro Conference Mini-Meet at Blackstone Creek Golf Course in Germantown.

Edwin Rivas, Wisconsin Dells

Rivas was dominant on the pitch this past week as he led the Wisconsin Dells boys soccer team to a pair of wins. The senior forward netted a long goal in a 2-1 win over Mount Horeb to begin his week. Rivas then was absolutely unstoppable in a 10-0 win over Mauston. He scored six goals himself, dominating the competition.

Sean West, Homestead

West was responsible for all 16 points scored in Homestead's 16-13 win over Nicolet on Friday night. The started the night off with a 25 yard touchdown catch in the first quarter. He proceeded to kick in the extra point. Homestead went into the half 13-7. West came out in the second half and made all three of his field goal attempts from 37, 29 and 30 yards away. The jack of all trades athlete connected on a 30 yard field goal in the fourth quarter to win it for the Highlanders. West finished with two catches for 53 yards in the game as well.
