Below are the rSchoolToday Athlete of the Week Nominees for this week. Voting is open until Thursday at 2:00 pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Athlete of the Week Nominees: September 11-17

Dylan Bredlow, Johnson Creek

Bredlow was electric under center this past Friday as Johnson Creek beat Randolph 62-36 in a Trailways Conference matchup. The senior signal caller passed just nine times, but completed five of them for 117 yards and two touchdowns. He did more damage with his legs, rushing 28 times for 202 yards and four scores. Bredlow added 36 return yards and four tackles, making plays in all facets of the game. Johnson Creek improved to 4-1 and 3-0 in conference play.

Julia Kellner, Racine Lutheran

The Racine Lutheran girls volleyball team was a bulldozer this past Saturday at the Delavan-Darien Invite. Before the Crusaders competed in that however, Kellner had 29 kills, ten blocks, nine aces and four digs in a 3-2 win over Shoreland Lutheran on Thursday. Lutheran then headed to Delavan-Darien where Kellner led the squad to a perfect 5-0 on the day, not dropping a single set. The junior middle hitter had 46 kills, 17 blocks, nine aces and five digs through the five matches. Racine Lutheran is 16-5 overall on the year and sits atop the Metro Classic standings.

Brady Koester, Kimberly

The Kimberly boys volleyball team was ranked fifth in the most recent Wisconsin Boys Volleyball Coaches poll and the Papermakers dominated this past Saturday with the help of Koester. Although Kimberly fell to Appleton North 3-0 earlier in the week, Koester led the team with seven kills; adding two blocks, two digs and an ace. The Papermakers then competed in the Dave Has Invite at Kaukauna and went 6-0 to capture the title. Koester had 44 kills, ten blocks, ten digs, three aces and two assists throughout the day. Kimberly is 22-4 overall and is tied for second in the Fox Valley Association standings.

Emma Nilson, Fox Valley Lutheran

The Fox Valley Lutheran girls volleyball team has been dominant this season, evidenced by being ranked second in the WVCA Division 2 rankings. The Foxes took home a tournament title at home this past Saturday behind the strong play of Nilson. The senior hitter began her week with nine kills and two aces in a 3-0 sweep of North Eastern foe Little Chute. Nilson then accumulated 33 kills, ten digs, seven blocks and six aces as Fox Valley Lutheran went 5-0 to capture their home tournament crown. Overall, Fox Valley Lutheran is 22-6 and 3-0 in North Eastern Conference play.

Tobias Volkmann, Three Lakes/Phelps

Volkmann was unstoppable on the soccer pitch this past week, willing the Three Lakes/Phelps co-op to a pair of wins and a draw. First in a 7-1 win over Merrill, the senior forward netted four goals and added two assists. He followed with a hat trick, scoring all three goals in a 3-3 tie with Newman Catholic at the Northland Pines Quad. Volkmann finished his week by scoring four more goals and assisting on one other in a 6-1 win over Barron in the quad. For the season, Volkmann has netted 25 goals and assisted on five more through nine matches.
