Catholic Memorial junior M.J. Mitchell has been selected as the rSchoolToday Athlete of the Week for the week of September 18-24 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net. 

There were 3,347 total votes this week. Mitchell topped all vote getters with 1,201 votes. Fall Creek's Lauren Dallas came in second with 1,063 votes.

Catholic Memorial has rattled off four straight wins after starting the season 0-2. A big reason why has been the steady play of junior quarterback M.J. Mitchell. In a 35-7 win over New Berlin West Mitchell completed six of eight passes for 111 yards and one score for a quarterback rating of 156.2. He also added 113 yards and two scores on the ground. Despite the two losses, Catholic Memorial has been the top-ranked team in Division 4 every week in the WSN Coaches Poll.

Mitchell and the Crusaders take on Pius XI Catholic this Friday at Raabe Stadium at Wisconsin Lutheran College.
