Level 1 WisSports.net Team of the Week Nominees

Arrowhead Warhawks

Playing with a heavy heart following the death of former coach Tom Taraska last week, Arrowhead played some inspired football, defeating Classic Eight rival Mukwonago 31-28 on the road. Sophomore running back Jacob Siner carried the load, rushing 32 times for 212 yards with a touchdown. Junior quarterback Vance Holtz threw for 87 yards but also ran for 84 yards and two touchdowns. Colton Herriot had a punt return score for the Warhawks as well.

Coleman Cougars

Coleman made the 234-mile, four-hour trip across the state to take on Luther in Onalaska. The Cougars came away with a 31-21 win, rallying from a 15-8 fourth quarter deficit with three scores in the final period. Coleman did not complete its only pass attempt in the game, as the offense relied on a strong and balanced rushing attack that put up 352 yards on 59 carries. Brady Gross ran for 158 yards, Cole Berth had 99 yards, and Micah Kuchta went for 93 yards and three touchdowns.

Lakeside Lutheran Warriors

Lakeside Lutheran and Evansville went neck-and-neck all game, but ultimately it was the Warriors who came out on top 21-14 in a Division 4 playoff game. Sam Schmidt scored the winning touchdown in the fourth quarter on what was his only carry in the game, a five yard scoring run. Lakeside Lutheran ran for 300 yards, including 111 by Kaycee Guzman while Kooper Mlsna and Kayden Bou combined for 179 as well.

Randolph Rockets

Randolph is a two-seed, but the Rockets had to rally from a two-score deficit in the fourth quarter to beat seventh-seeded Crivitz 34-33, scoring the game-winning touchdown on a seven-yard Ben Paul run with just 11 seconds remaining. Randolph scored first and led at halftime, but saw Crivitz score a pair of third-quarter touchdowns to lead into the final period. The ground game kept the Rockets in it and made the difference, as they pounded away for 59 carries and 290 yards as a team, with Paul leading the way with 114 yards and four scores.

Stoughton Vikings

Stoughton was under .500 on the season and under .500 in conference play, but the Vikings went on the road as a seven seed and rallied from a halftime deficit to defeat second-seeded Greendale 41-20. Three different players scored second half rushing touchdowns, including Cole Sarbacker, who led the Vikings with 137 yards on just nine carries. Casey Quam return an interception 98 yards in the fourth quarter to help put things out of reach.
