The Coleman Cougars have been selected as the Level 1 WSN Football Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team made a lengthy road trip to win an opening playoff game. The Cougars were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Level 1. A total of 12,069 votes were cast, as Coleman's 4,812 votes edged Lakeside Lutheran's 4,640 votes.

Coleman made the 234-mile, four-hour trip across the state to take on Luther in Onalaska. The Cougars came away with a 31-21 win, rallying from a 15-8 fourth quarter deficit with three scores in the final period. Coleman did not complete its only pass attempt in the game, as the offense relied on a strong and balanced rushing attack that put up 352 yards on 59 carries. Brady Gross ran for 158 yards, Cole Berth had 99 yards, and Micah Kuchta went for 93 yards and three touchdowns.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Level 2 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
