Level 2 WisSports.net Team of the Week Nominees

Bangor Cardinals

Bangor went to previously unbeaten Pepin/Alma and came away with a 28-13 victory Friday night, setting up another matchup with league rival Cashton in Level 3. In the win against Pepin/Alma, the Cardinals' rushing attack put up 274 yards on 49 carries, led by 140 from quarterback Nolan Michek. Chase Horstman added 94 yards and a pair of scores, plus a team-high 15 tackles.

Edgar Wildcats

Edgar took down defending Division 7 state champion Regis on Friday night and extended its shutout streak to nine games in the process, scoring a 20-0 victory over the Ramblers. The offense did enough to get the job done, relying heavily on Karter Butt, who carried the ball 26 times for 153 yard and all three Wildcat touchdowns.

Grafton Black Hawks

Grafton lost to Port Washington three times in the last 14 months, but on Friday night, the Black Hawks made sure it wasn't four in a row, rallying for a wild 22-21 victory. Trailing by a touchdown late in the game, Grafton scored with 29 seconds left when Brady Hilgart found Gavin Lemke from 18 yards out to pull within a point. The Black Hawks went for two, and converted on a Tommy Lutz run for the game-winning points. The Grafton defense took advantage of several Port Washington turnovers and Hilgart threw for 196 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

Somerset Spartans

In an absolutely wild game, Somerset somehow rallied to beat Mosinee 42-40, despite trailing by ten points with less than three minutes remaining and Mosinee with the ball. The Spartans forced a turnover, scored, recovered the onside kick, and won on the final play of the game. Kane Donnelly hit Dylan Leccia for the final touchdown, as Donnelly finished with 165 yards and three touchdowns through the air, adding 81 yards and two scores on the ground. Leccia hauled in five passes for 102 yards and three touchdowns while Caymen Gebheim ran for 134 yards.

Stratford Tigers

Stratford won the rematch of last year's Division 6 state championship game, once again defeating Mondovi, this time 21-0. The Tigers' defense limited Mondovi to just 129 yards of offense in the shutout. Both Koehler Kilty and Gavin Leonhardt went over 100 rushing yards for Stratford, who also got 95 passing yards and a touchdown on three-of-five passing from Jack Tubbs.
