We asked, you voted, and Franklin at Muskego has been selected as the Kwik Trip and Wisconsin Dairy Game of the Week for Level 3 of the high school football playoffs. A total of 10,283 votes were cast, as this one received 4,073 of those votes.

The Kwik Trip & Wisconsin Dairy Game of the Week allows you, the fans, to pick what you feel is the biggest high school football game in the state each week. Not only will that game get featured on WisSports.net, but our WSN staff will make it our destination that week, with updates, photos, videos, and stories from the big game.

And of course, no trip to a big game in Wisconsin would be complete without a stop or two at Kwik Trip and a chocolate milk!!

These teams often get put in the same grouping, and this is the fifth postseason matchup between these teams since 2017. Muskego has won the previous four times, including a 42-18 victory last season.

Franklin is a bit miffed this game will be in Muskego, as the Sabers felt they earned the top seed with an unbeaten season, while Muskego suffered a Week 9 loss to Kettle Moraine.

Regardless, it's time to strap things up on the field for what should be another outstanding entry into this burgeoning rivalry.

"We expected this," said Muskego head coach Ken Krause. "At some point, due to geography we always seem to play each other."

A big game, deep into the playoffs, with some history between the teams. It would be easy to get lost in the hype, but Krause knows the focus has to remain inward.

"It's about us," he said. "Block and fake to the whistle. Do our job on defense and pursue the football. Do our assignments on special teams."

The core senior group of this Franklin squad has seen quite a bit of success in its career, including several playing roles on the 2021 Division 1 state title team.

It is a junior, quarterback Joey Kallay, that has really stepped up and provided a different dimension for this year's team after getting his feet wet last year. The Sabers have scored at least 40 points for seven consecutive games and are humming along, though they have not played outside the Southeast Conference since way back in late August.

Krause is looking forward to one more opportunity for a home game for the Warriors.

"It's been a complete blast," he added. "We have gotten better each week. The players give us a relentless effort each week and have been extremely coachable. We are truly a TEAM this year."

Franklin head coach Louis Brown is excited about the opportunity, with a three-word mantra for his team: "Do you job".

"This will be a great game and I am sure the fans will have no problem paying full price to see it."
