We asked, you voted, and Badger versus Sun Prairie East has been selected as the Kwik Trip and Wisconsin Dairy Game of the Week for Level 4 of the high school football playoffs. A total of 4,907 votes were cast, as this one received 2,340 of those votes.

The Kwik Trip & Wisconsin Dairy Game of the Week allows you, the fans, to pick what you feel is the biggest high school football game in the state each week. Not only will that game get featured on WisSports.net, but our WSN staff will make it our destination that week, with updates, photos, videos, and stories from the big game.

And of course, no trip to a big game in Wisconsin would be complete without a stop or two at Kwik Trip and a chocolate milk!!

What a last week it has been for the Badger Badgers, who took down defending Division 2 state champion Kettle Moraine last week 28-7.

In the fourth quarter, Badger head coach Matt Hensler left the field with a medical issue and remained hospitalized over the weekend. After being released, he was able to visit practice Tuesday and may be in attendance Friday night, though likely in the booth, as the team continues preparations for a huge game against Sun Prairie East.

The Badgers are into the state semi-finals for the fourth time in his tenure (2012, 2015, 2016) but still looking for that elusive first state title game appearance.

Sun Prairie East rallied this season from a couple early losses to get to Level 4 after a Level 3 trip in its inaugural season as a split program in 2022. Sun Prairie East running back Brady Kaufman had a career game last week with 244 rushing yards on just 17 carries as the Cardinals downed Slinger.

It will certainly be a tale of two different styles offensively on Friday night. Sun Prairie East is a spread-based shotgun team, though is pretty balanced, with 2,365 passing yards and 2,116 rushing yards coming into the game. On the other hand, as an old-school flexbone option squad, Badger has more than 4,000 rushing yards this season, with only 500 through the air.

The duo of fullback Landon Nottestad and quarterback J.P. Doyle do most of the damage for the Badger, combining for 331 carries and 2,646 rushing yards. Anthony Richardson and Matthew O'Grady are big-play threats as well.

After trips to the state finals in Division 1 in 2012, 2017, and 2021 under head coach Brian Kaminski when it was a unified district, Sun Prairie East is looking for its first championship game appearance as a split school. Drew Kavanaugh has played extremely well as a first-time starter this season, throwing 36 touchdown passes, second-most in the state.

Like all state semi-final games this weekend, this matchup will take place at a neutral site, at Oconomowoc High School. It will also be our final WSN Live broadcast of the year, available for free on our WSN YouTube channel.
