Triple Threat Athlete of the Week: Tyler Brightman, Xavier

The Triple Threat Athlete of the Week is an honor given on WisSports.net to the top senior boys and girls three-sport athletes in the state. Players are recognized each week on WSN, with a boys and girls winner of the Pat Richter Award at the end of the season to the best three-sport athlete of the year.

High School: Xavier

Football Honors: Helped Xavier to a 10-2 record and a spot in the WIAA Division 4 sectional semifinals as a senior ... Finished prep career with 11 interceptions, including eight as a junior ... Three-year starter for the Hawks and coach Dave Hinkens ... Earned second-team all-Bay Conference recognition as a junior and senior at defensive back ... Also played wide receiver for Xavier ... Helped Hawks to three straight Bay Conference titles.

Basketball Honors: First-team all-Bay Conference selection as a junior ... The 6-foot-5 forward averaged 12.0 points and 7.4 rebounds as the Hawks went 25-3, won the Bay Conference crown and qualified for the WIAA Division 3 sectional final before losing to eventual champion, Brillion ... Also played varsity basketball at Xavier as a sophomore. 

Baseball Honors: Honorable mention all-Bay Conference performer as an at large pick as a junior ... Helped the Hawks to a 16-9 record under coach Tim Harrikkala.

Favorite Sport: "It depends what season it is."

Best Part of High School Sports: "Enjoying time spent with my teammates and the friendships that have formed."

Best Advice from a High School Coach: "What got us here isn't going to get us there," football coach Dave Hinkens. 

Most Memorable Moment in High School Sports: "Recording two interceptions and scoring a touchdown against Winneconne in level two playoff game in my last game at Xavier."

Which Person or Persons Have Served as Positive Role Models: "Coach Ryan Weyers in baseball has been a big influence. His teaching, life lessons and support since I was little have been a great support. My father, Clint, also has been a big supporter of mine."

Best Part of Playing Three Sports: "When one season ends, I have the next season to look forward to."

Most Difficult Part of Playing Three Sports: "Nothing really."

Favorite Opponent: "Fox Valley Lutheran for football. West De Pere in basketball. Menasha in baseball."

Toughest Individual You've Competed Against: "Max Ronsman, the quarterback at Luxemburg-Casco. He is very hard to tackle and also very smart."

Favorite Professional Teams: Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks 

Favorite Professional Athlete: "Michael Jordan, due to his competitiveness and mental toughness."

Favorite College Teams: UW-La Crosse

Cumulative GPA: 3.4

Most Admired High School Teammate: "My football teammate, Carter McGlone."

College Plans: "I am undecided on my major at this point, but I plan to attend UW-La Crosse and play football."

Activities Outside of Sports: "Golfing, fishing, handing with family, faith."
