WIAC Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Will Mahoney, Senior (Appleton, Wis./West), Guard of UW-Oshkosh

Mahoney averaged 21.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in the Titans’ wins against Edgewood College (Wis.) and No. 21-ranked North Park University (Ill.) during the week, shooting 44.8 percent (13-of-29) from the field, 45.5 percent (five-of-11) from three and 75 percent (12-of-16) from the line. At Edgewood on Nov. 21, he recorded 23 points, making eight of his 15 attempts from the field, a three-point attempt and six three throws. He also pulled in nine rebounds and stole the ball three times. He reached 20 points again against North Park at home on Nov. 25, going four-of-seven from three and six-of-seven from the line, while adding another nine rebounds.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Aleah Grundahl, Senior (DeForest, Wis./DeForest), Forward of UW-Whitewater

Grundahl led UW-Whitewater to two road wins during the week. In an 82-80 win at Illinois Wesleyan University on Nov. 21, she posted a double-double with 33 points and 13 rebounds. She was efficient from floor hitting 13-of-17 (.765) and 7-of-8 from the free throw line, while adding five assists and a steal in the victory. In UW-Whitewater’s 64-55 triumph at Calvin University (Mich.) on Nov. 25, Grundahl registered 21 points and nine rebounds. For the week, she averaged 27 points and 11 rebounds in just over 36 minutes per outing.
