Athlete of the Week Nominees: November 27 - December 3

Jaydon Awe, Pacelli

The Pacelli boys basketball team has gotten some Awe-inspiring performances, Jaydon Awe that is, through the beginning part of this season. The 6'8" junior forward leads the state in rebounding with 29.5 and this past week he put up some monster numbers. First in an 81-30 win over Menominee Indian, Awe filled the box score with 19 points, 24 rebounds, six assists, five blocks and three steals. He one-upped it in a 79-58 win over Weyauwega-Fremont later in the week. Awe finished the game with an eye-popping 35 points, 36 rebounds, three assists and two blocks.

Kelsey Cooper, St. Croix Falls

Cooper is one of the top rebounders in the state so far this season and was a big reason why the Saints took home a pair of wins this past week. First in a 55-12 win over Ladysmith, the senior forward scored 19 points, hauled down 12 rebounds and added four steals. Cooper dominated the boards once again as St. Croix Falls knocked off Cameron 65-56. She had 17 points and added 22 rebounds, four assists and two blocks.

Chris Davis Jr., Sun Prairie West

Davis Jr. led the Sun Prairie West boys basketball team to two wins this past week, including making a game winner in the second game of the week. First in an 89-62 win over Janesville Parker, the 6'5" junior had 37 points, six rebounds, five steals and two assists. Davis Jr. followed that up with 34 points, four rebounds and two assists in a 72-70 win over Sheboygan North. With just under five seconds left in the game, Davis Jr. made the game-winning bucket to secure the win for the Wolves.

Caleb Dickens, Tomahawk

Dickens found the net early and often last week as the Tomahawk boys hockey team picked up a pair of victories. The senior forward began his week with two goals and two assists in a 14-2 win over a Wausau East/Merrill United squad. Dickens followed that up by netting six goals of his own in an 11-4 win over Rhinelander. For the week, Dickens scored 18 points with his eight goals and two assists.

Serinity Metcalfe, Shorewood

Metcalfe has been on a scoring spree to start the season, currently leading the state with 48 points per game early on. In a 56-52 win over South Milwaukee, Metcalfe came very close to scoring every single point by the Greyhounds. She finished by scoring 47 of the team's 56 points. Metcalfe added 19 rebounds, six steals, two assists and two blocks, filling the stat sheet.
