Below are the rSchoolToday Athlete of the Week Nominees for this week. Voting is open until Friday at 2:00 pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Athlete of the Week Nominees: December 18-24

JJ Douglas, Janesville Parker

Douglas helped the Janesville Parker boys basketball team to its first two victories of the season last week. The Central Michigan football recruit began his week with a game high 38 points in a 78-76 win over Milwaukee Riverside. He added 15 points, five assists and four steals in the victory. Douglas then recorded another double-double in Parker's 72-71 win over Racine Case. He again scored a game high with 28 points, while adding 14 rebounds, five steals and three assists.

Madison Fitzgibbon, Homestead

Fitzgibbon helped the Homestead girls basketball team to a pair of wins, including knocking off undefeated Arrowhead on Friday. To begin her week, the Division 1 recruit scored a game high 24 points while adding four assists, three rebounds and three steals in an 84-40 win over Port Washington. Homestead then squared off with Division 1, top-ranked and undefeated Arrowhead. The Highlanders came away with a 59-57 tight victory behind a team-high 17 points from Fitzgibbon.

Gunnar Greuel, Winter

Greuel is a double-double machine for the Winter Warriors boys basketball team. First in a 94-34 win over Cornell, Greuel filled up the stat sheet. Greuel posted a quadruple-double with 30 points, 26 rebounds, 13 steals and 11 assists while adding four blocks in the victory. He finished his week with 14 points, 23 rebounds, nine assists, seven steals and six blocks in an 87-61 win over New Auburn. His stat filling ability has led the 6'3" senior close to 1,000 career rebounds. He currently is 16 rebounds shy of that mark in his prep career.

Peyton McKenna, Germantown

McKenna had a pair of impressive outings as Germantown picked up two very close wins within the hotly contested Greater Metro Conference. First in a 78-73 win over Marquette, the 6'2" senior guard tallied 18 points, four rebounds, two steals and an assist while shooting five of ten from beyond the arc. McKenna then had a game high 27 points, including going eight of fifteen from three in a 73-71 win over Brookfield Central. His eight threes tied a school record and he added four rebounds, three assists and a steal. For the week, McKennz went 13 of 25 from beyond the arc, shooting 52%.

Mackenzie Tarman, Turtle Lake

Tarman is one of the top scorers in girls basketball in the state this season, averaging nearly 28 points per game for the Lakers. This past week she had two impressive outings, first in a 63-32 win over Luck. The 6'0" senior finished with 28 points, 12 rebound, four assists and three steals. Tarman went on to record 32 points, six rebounds, four steals and a block in a 63-44 win over Frederic. She shot 64% from the field in the two victories.
