WIAC Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week
(Week of January 1-7)

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Max Love, Sophomore (St. Charles, Ill./North), Forward of UW-Platteville

Love helped the Pioneers start WIAC action with a pair of wins by averaging 23.0 points and 6.5 rebounds across the week, while shooting 53.1 percent (17-of-32) from the floor and 52.4 percent (11-of-21) from three-point range. He opened the week with 19 points, six rebounds, and two assists in a 74-69 win at UW-Eau Claire on Jan. 3, before scoring a career-high 27 points with seven rebounds, two blocks, and one steal against UW-River Falls on Jan. 6. Love made six threes against the Falcons.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Kacie Carollo, Junior (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater), Guard of UW-Whitewater

Carollo averaged a double-double to lead UW-Whitewater to a pair of wins during the week. She registered a strong performance to help the Warhawks open conference play with a 79-71 triumph at UW-Oshkosh on Jan. 3, with 19 points and 16 rebounds. She added 14 points and eight boards in a 66-53 win at UW-Eau Claire on Jan. 6. In the pair of victories, Carollo added nine steals, eight assists and a blocked shot. For the week, she shot 44 percent from the floor, averaging 16.5 points and 12.0 rebounds in over 36 minutes played per outing.
