Triple Threat Athlete of the Week: Carter Scholy, Belleville

The Triple Threat Athlete of the Week is an honor given on WisSports.net to the top senior boys and girls three-sport athletes in the state. Players are recognized each week on WSN, with a boys and girls winner of the Pat Richter Award at the end of the season to the best three-sport athlete of the year.

Cross Country Honors: Four-time Capitol Conference Performer of the Year ... Four-time first-team all-league ... Two-time captain ... Four-time MVP of Belleville squad ... Three-time sectional champion and four-time WIAA State qualifier ... Finished in third place in the Division 3 state meet as a senior ... Second-team All-State pick in 2022 and 2023.

Basketball Honors: Team captain ... Selected for the Coaches Award following the 2022-23 season ... Averaged 8.4 points per game as a junior while helping the Wildcats to a 21-7 record under coach TJ Zweifel.   

Track & Field Honors: Two-time team MVP ... Four-time first-team all-Capitol Conference pick ... Two-time sectional champion and three-time state qualifier for the Wildcats.

Favorite Sport: "Cross country because it is simply one race with 800-meter runners, 1,600-meter runners and 3,200-meter runners all combined. There is this massive start line where all of the runners line up together and sprint down a stretch onto the course followed by a series of uphill and downhill runs and in the end there is only one winner."

Best Part of High School Sports: "Getting to do things you love with your friends."

Best Advice from a High School Coach: "Have fun."

Most Memorable Moment in High School Sports: "Freshman year at the cross country sectionals, it was a COVID year and we had to race against all Division 1 and Division 2 competition and it was split into two sections and just the top five advanced to state. I ran a great race and got fourth and advanced to the state meet."

Which Person or Persons Have Served as Positive Role Models: "My dad because he's the reason I keep striving to be the best I can be and holds me accountable. This past cross country season, he would go with me to the track and do workouts at 5:30 a.m., rain or shine."

Best Part of Playing Three Sports: "There is always something to do throughout the year, which keeps me entertained and gives me something to work for."

Most Difficult Part of Playing Three Sports: "Having enough energy to compete well in all seasons and managing time."

Toughest Individual You've Competed Against: "Charlie Vater of Iola-Scandinavia."
