WIAC Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Jack Leifker, Sophomore (Blaine, Minn./Spring Lake Park), Center of UW-River Falls

Leifker helped lead the Falcons to a pair of WIAC wins at home over UW-Eau Claire and UW-Oshkosh, averaging 22.0 points per game off 19-of-34 shooting from the field. He also collected a team-high 8.0 rebounds per game and tied his career-high with 25 points against the Blugolds on Jan. 10.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Kacie Carollo, Junior (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater), Guard of UW-Whitewater

Carollo averaged a double-double and hit two career milestones in a pair of UW-Whitewater wins during the week that helped the Warhawks to the best start in program history at 15-0. She registered 18 points and 13 rebounds in a 53-44 win against UW-Stevens Point before dropping 30 points, a career high, and adding eight boards in an 80-70 victory over UW-Stout. Carollo reached the 500 career rebounds and 1,000 career points milestones against the Blue Devils. For the week, she shot over 50-percent from the floor (17-of-33), over 60-percent from three-point range (5-of-8) and was perfect from the free throw line (9-of-9). Carollo averaged 24 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3 steals and 2.5 assists in 38.5 minutes played.
