Holmen sophomore Noah Henderson has been selected as the rSchoolToday Athlete of the Week for the week of January 15-21 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net.
There were 3,369 total votes this week. Henderson topped all vote getters with 1,416 votes. Saint Thomas More's Sekou Konneh came in second with 1,296 votes.
Henderson improved to 31-9 on the season, winning the 120-pound title for the Holmen wrestling team at the Sparta Invitational on Saturday. The sophomore wrestler recorded pins in all of his matches until the semifinal and title matches where he won via technical fall in both. None of his matches before the semifinals got to the second round, with Henderson pinning his opponent in the first round in each. Henderson's championship helped the Vikings to a first place finish at the 15-team invite, finishing with a team score of 226.5 points.
