Neenah senior Allie Ziebell has been selected as the rSchoolToday Athlete of the Week for the week of January 22-28 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net.

There were 5,326 total votes this week. Ziebell topped all vote getters with 2,115 votes. Wautoma's Joe Ascher came in a very close second with 2,108, the closest poll in years.

Ziebell is the top girls basketball in the state of Wisconsin. This past week she led the Neenah girls basketball team to a trio of wins to improve to 15-3. She started her week off with 24 points, eight rebounds, two steals, and an assist in a 69-47 victory over Oshkosh West. The UConn commit then had 19 points, five rebounds, two steals, a block and an assists in a 62-42 win over Fond du Lac. Ziebell finished her week off with her best performance going for 30 points, eight rebounds, four assists and a steal and block in a 71-59 win over Kaukauna. Ziebell surpassed 2,500 career points and moved into sixth place all-time in scoring in Wisconsin girls high school basketball history, surpassing future UConn teammate and Germantown grad KK Arnold. Off the court, Ziebell earned an incredible honor as she was named a McDonald's All-American.

Ziebell has had another big week this week, first being named a finalist for the prestigious Ms Basketball in Wisconsin by the WBCA. She also had two big games, first recording 24 points and 13 rebounds in Neenah's 64-27 win over Appleton East. Ziebell also had 21 points and eight rebounds in Thursday's 59-42 win over Oshkosh North.
