Lena sophomore Madilyn Thomson has been selected as the rSchoolToday Athlete of the Week for the week of January 29 - February 4 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net.

There were 8,782 total votes this week. Thomson topped all vote getters with 3,255 votes. Cedarburg's Logan Zahour came in a very close second with 3,083.

Thomson and the Lena girls basketball team is now 20-0 after two wins last week, one of just six undefeated teams in the state. Thomson is a big reason why. The 5'10" sophomore stuffed the stat sheet in a 67-45 win over Oneida Nation. She finished with 29 points, 11 rebounds, five steals, and four assists. Thomson then had 17 points, seven rebounds, two steals, and two assists in a 59-24 victory over Gillett. The Wildcats 20 game win streak is tied for the longest in the state with regards to active streaks.

Lena suffered its first loss of the season this past Monday 56-54 to Crandon despite 12 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists from Thomson.
