MEN’S BASKETBALL

Carter Huschka, Senior (Farmington, Minn./Farmington, Forward of UW-Eau Claire

Huschka averaged a double-double per contest to help lead UW-Eau Claire to a pair of victories during the week. He totaled 23.5 points and 12 rebounds per game as the Blugolds knocked off UW-River Falls and UW-Stout. Huschka tallied 19 points and a career-best 15 rebounds in an 83-73 win over UW-River Falls on Feb. 7. His 15 rebounds rank as the second-best total in a single game by a WIAC player this season. Huschka then set a new scoring high with 28 points in an 81-77 victory over UW-Stout on Feb. 10, a game in which he also secured nine rebounds. Huschka shot 63 percent from the field and 50 percent from 3-point range across the two games.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Aleah Grundahl, Senior (DeForest, Wis./DeForest), Forward of UW-Whitewater

Grundahl carried the Warhawks to a pair of wins during the week. Opening the week with 33 points in a 64-51 victory at UW-Stevens Point on Feb. 7, she shot .750 (12-of-16) in the contest, adding eight rebounds, two blocks and a steal. On Feb. 10, Grundahl broke the program’s single-game scoring record that had stood since 1995 with 39 points to lead UW-Whitewater to a 73-67 win over UW-La Crosse. Grundahl shot over 71-percent from the floor (23-of-32), 42-percent from three-point range (3-of-7) and 85-percent from the free throw line (23-of-27) in the pair of games. For the week, she averaged 36 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals in less than 30 minutes of action per outing.
