Below are the rSchoolToday Athlete of the Week Nominees for this week. Voting is open until Thursday at 2:00 pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Hollis was instrumental in Albany/Monticello winning the Division 5 state championship in the first year of its co-op. The junior guard was rock steady through the two close wins for the Space Stallions. In the semifinals, Albany/Monticello squared off with Six Rivers-East foe Argyle/Pecatonica who beat the Space Stallions twice earlier this year. Hollis went six of six from the free throw line and finished with a game-high nine points; adding four rebounds, two steals, and an assist. The co-op advanced with a 37-31 win to take on Lena in the Division 5 state title game. Down three with five seconds left in the championship game, Hollis knocked down a three-point shot to force overtime. She knocked down another triple in the extra period, finishing with a game high 15 points. She added two assists and two steals.

Kussow was exceptional on the big stage, leading the Arrowhead girls basketball team to its first state title since 1991. The sophomore wing first had a game high 33 points in the War Hawks 82-55 semifinal win over Franklin. She finished 11 of 18 from the field, six of eight from three, and five of six from the free throw line. She added seven rebounds, an assist, block, and steal. Kussow followed that performance up with 26 points, eight rebounds, six assists, four steals, and two blocks in Arrowhead's 69-59 win over Neenah. Kussow's 59 points over the two games is second in state tournament history in Division 1. 

Laconia took home a second straight Division 4 state title this past weekend, doing so in impressive fashion. Madigan led a Spartan team that is one of the most balanced in the entire state, regardless of division. In a semifinal matchup with The Prairie School, Madigan finished with a game high 20 points on seven of ten shooting. She added 16 rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and one assist in the 67-49 victory. Laconia then eked out a 47-43 win over Cuba City in the Division 4 state title game. Madigan scored just six points in the victory, but helped the team win in a multitude of other ways. The junior wing had six rebounds, four assists, and three steals, contributing at all facets of the game.

Miller introduced herself to the state in a loud way this past weekend, leading the Edgewood Crusaders to a Division 3 state championship. Just a freshman, Miller scored 37 combined points over the two state games. She started by scoring a game high 27 points on six of nine shooting in Edgewood's 62-29 win over Baldwin-Woodville in the semifinals. She added four rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Edgewood then completed a comeback in the state title game to win 55-52 over Xavier. Miller finished with 20 points. She scored 18 of those in the second half, fueling the Crusaders comeback. She added six rebounds, four assists, and four steals leading Edgewood to its second state title in program history.

Terrian and the Pewaukee Pirates girls basketball team finally got over the hump that is the Notre Dame Trtions. Before the title game, the Michigan State commit put up a double-double in a Pewaukee's 79-41 win over West Salem. She finished with 19 points and ten assists. Terrian added eight rebounds and two steals in the victory. The Pirates then squared off with three-time defending champ Notre Dame, whom they've lost to in the past two Division 2 state championships. Terrian added 18 points, six assists, four rebounds a steal, and a block as the Pirates won 60-52. Terrian's play and leadership helped Pewaukee win its first state championship in girls basketball history.
