WBCA announces Division 4 Girls Basketball All-State Team

The WBCA Division 4 All-State Team features four three-time selections: JJ Barnes of The Prairie School, Carly Drew of Westfield, Tierney Madigan of Laconia, and Lindsey Schadewalt of New Glarus. 

Two others are repeat selections: Payton Morgan of Laconia and Olivia Olson of Cuba City. 

Barnes led The Prairie School to a state tournament appearance and a 25-4 record. The 5-8 guard averaged 20.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.8 steals per game for coach Abby Garchek-Jaramillo and the Hawks. Barnes, who holds several Division I offers, has compiled 1,509 points in her career. She has helped lead The Prairie School to a 73-11 record in her first three seasons. 

Drew helped lead Westfield (24-3) to a sectional appearance. The 5-8 guard averaged 20.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 3.0 steals per contest for coach ​​Luke Showen and the Pioneers. The NAIA Viterbo University recruit compiled 2,043 points and 689 rebounds in her career, helping the Pioneers to a 96-13 record. 

Madigan helped lead Laconia (28-2) to its second straight Division 4 state championship. The 5-10 guard averaged 14.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.1 steals per game for the Spartans. Madigan, a Division I prospect, has 1,137 points and 513 rebounds through seasons, helping Laconia to an 80-10 with three trips to the Resch Center. 

Schadewalt led New Glarus 23-3 record and a sectional appearance. The 5-10 guard averaged 30.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 2.7 steals per game for coach Kevin Parman and the Glarner Knights. Schadewalt also shot 56-for-109 from 3-point land. The NCAA Division II Maryville recruit compiled 2,328 points and 662 rebounds in her career, leading New Glarus to an 89-17 record. 

Payton Morgan helped Laconia claim its second consecutive D4 state title and a 28-2 record. The 5-10 guard averaged 9.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game for coach and father Chris Morgan and the Spartans. Payton, who is committed to NCAA Division II Minnesota State Mankato, shot 65-for-188 from 3-point land. She has scored 780 points through her junior season, helping lead Laconia to an 80-10 record with three state tournament appearances. 

Olson led Cuba City to a Division 4 state runner-up finish. The 5-7 point guard averaged 21.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 3.7 steals per game for coach Jason Derby and the Cubans, which finished the year with a 25-5 record. Olson, a Division I prospect, connected on 71 of 180 from behind the arc. She has compiled 1,525 points in her first three seasons, leading Cuba City to a 68-17 record. 

Abby Cole helped lead Winnebago Lutheran (21-7) to a sectional final. The 5-11 wing/forward averaged 15.8 points, 15.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.9 steals per contest for coach Eric Schraufnagel and the Vikings. Cole, an NCAA Division III Wisconsin Lutheran College recruit, finished her career with 1,218 points and 1,040 rebounds, helping WLA to a 62-18 record over the last three seasons. 

Emily Cooper, a first-team all-state pick in Division 5 last season, led McDonell Central to a 26-3 record and a trip to the Resch Center. The 5-7 point guard tallied 16.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 4.8 steals per contest for coach Don Cooper and the Macks. Emily also connected on 81 of 185 from 3-point land. The NCAA Division II Black Hills State recruit ends her career with 1,368 points, 477 rebounds, 552 assists, and 403 steals, helping lead McDonell Central to an 89-16 record with four state tournaments appearances which includes taking home the D5 state title in 2023. 

Anna Fronk led Bangor to a 21-5 record and a regional final appearance. The 5-7 guard averaged 19.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 4.6 steals per game for coach Merlin Jones and the Cardinals. Anna also shot 82-for-183 on three-pointers. She has netted 1,071 points through three seasons, helping the Cardinals to a 67-15 record. 

Finley Morgan helped Laconia capture the Division 4 state title. The 5-9 guard tallied 9.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per contest for coach and father Chris Morgan and the Spartans, which finished the year with a 28-2 record. Finley shot 63-for-160 from behind the arc in her debut season. 

Audrey Norville, an honorable mention choice last season, helped lead St. Mary Catholic 25-2 record and a sectional appearance. The 5-11 guard tallied 14.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 2.9 steals per game for WBCA Hall of Fame coach Jeff Chew and the Zephyrs. Audrey also connected on 46 triples. The NCAA Division II Black Hills State recruit ends her career with 1,038 points and 494 rebounds, helping SMC to a 76-6 record in the last three seasons. 

Addy Verhagen, an honorable mention selection last season, led Sheboygan Lutheran to a sectional final and a 22-6 overall record. The 5-4 point guard averaged 14.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 2.3 steals per contest for coach Tyler Thomas and the Crusaders. Addy also knocked down 48 three-pointers. Through her first three seasons, she has compiled 1,192 points, 382 assists, and 235 steals, helping Sheboygan Lutheran to a 63-18 record.
