Eleva-Strum came up just short of the state tournament last season, losing to eventual Division 4 champ Ithaca in a sectional final. Coming into this season, the Cardinals are picked as the preseason favorite in the smallest division. Seniors Justin Becker, Jake Bjerke, Carter Gunderson, and Tyler Webb all are returning All-Dairyland players for head coach CJ Christianson. Webb, Gunderson, Bjerke and Ty Fjerstad return on the mound for the Cardinals after pitching to sub-.200 ERAs last season, including Webb's 0.77. The batting order is just as loaded and are a big reason why Eleva-Strum is a favorite to begin the 2024 campaign.

Pecatonia, Johnson Creek, Northwood/Solon Springs, and Bangor were chosen as the top contenders to Eleva-Strum by the coaches.
