Rivals in all athletic forums, these four programs are on opposite ends of the lacrosse spectrum. The first year of the FRCC is set to be one that is dominated by Bay Port. Bay Port, which has a long history of playing the sport, is set-up to rule the conference with relative newcomers. De Pere has a growing program with depth at the high school level. The question with De Pere is their ability to compete with teams that have established youth and high school programs. Notre Dame has to look at replacing over half their varsity roster. And, Pulaski, which is in the first year of having a varsity team.  

Bay Port
Last Year: 7-8
Results: Lost to Pacelli in 2nd round
Head Coach: Max Salscheider

The Pirates have a strong returning group with 15 seniors on the roster, led by 1st Team All-Conference Defender Ian Greenwall. Greenwall was top 10 in the State in ground balls and top 3 in forced turnovers. Incredibly, the team was led offensively by a freshman and sophomore last season. Finn Gustafson (2025) and Quinn Macdonald (2026) combined for 57 goals in the regular season. Another freshman, Dominic Fry, was the man between the pipes. They kept traditional lacrosse opponents with Appleton, Neenah, and Kimberly on the schedule. But now add Arrowhead and Verona to the mix. The schedule overall will be challenging, but this mix of seniors and talented younger players looks to make a run. The next three years look to be promising for the Pirates.  

De Pere/West De Pere
Last Year: 5-11
Results: Lost to Wausau in 1st round
Head Coach: Charley Jacobs

Another team with a large group of returning varsity players, unfortunately the De Pere Central graduated 85% of last year’s offense. Defensively, Eli Breider (HM All-Conf) and Ian Parrett lead the charge. Attack/Middie Will Jacobs is as much of a passing threat as scoring himself, will search for help on offense. With holes to fill, someone from this young team will step up to be that consistent scoring threat. Teddy Matheson did have a solid year at faceoff. A tough schedule with Hudson, Appleton, and Kimberly, the team will need to compete with newer programs to find the wins.

Notre Dame
Last Year: 2-9
Results: Lost to Appleton in 1st round
Head Coach: Michael Hinkfuss

2024 will be a big challenging year for the Tritons. They are only bringing back 8 varsity players from last year, including only 2 seniors. They lost key players at nearly every position. One bright spot is returning top goal scorer, David Sack. He led the team with 21 goals in only 9 games played last season, a 40 goal pace for a full season.  

Pulaski

This is the first year that the Red Raiders will participate in lacrosse at the varsity level. In order for the sport to be successful in Wisconsin, we will need new programs to grow like what is taking place in Pulaski. Head Coach Rich Thomson has been the driving force behind the community. Their first varsity schedule is made up of some perennial powerhouses and new programs as well. This will provide a good experience and opportunity for growth for the players in the program.
