WBCA announces Division 2 Boys Basketball All-State Team

The 2024 WBCA Division 2 All-State Team is headlined by three-time first-team selection Kon Knueppel of Wisconsin Lutheran.

In addition to Knueppel earning first-team all-state three times, Evan Anderson of Onalaska, Davion Hannah of Nicolet, Nick Janowski of Pewaukee, Jaquan Johnson of Pius XI Catholic and Kai Rogers of Wauwatosa West are repeat performers from a year ago.

Knueppel (6-6) is headed to Duke and is ranked among the top 25 players nationally. He led Wisconsin Lutheran to a 30-0 record and the WIAA Division 2 state title by averaging a team-best 25.9 points, 8.6 rebounds and 5.3 assists while playing primarily the point guard position. He finished his four-year prep career with 1,978 points.

Evan Anderson (6-4) was chosen as the Player of the Year in the Mississippi Valley Conference after leading Onalaska to the league title and an 18-7 record. Anderson, who is headed to DI South Dakota in the fall, averaged 23.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists for the Hilltoppers. Anderson, who played his freshman and sophomore years at Black River Falls before moving to Onalaska, concluded his prep career with 1,886 points.

Davion Hannah (6-6) helped Nicolet to a 24-5 record, the North Shore Conference championship and a spot in the WIAA Division 2 State Tournament. The versatile and athletic wing prospect averaged 19.4 points and 8.4 rebounds. He owns DI scholarship offers from Arizona State, LSU, Marquette, Michigan State, Oregon and Wisconsin, among others.

During Nick Janowski's (6-3) four-year prep career at Pewaukee, the Pirates won three straight Division 2 state titles before finishing as runner-up this season. The Nebraska recruit is a terrific perimeter shooter who averaged 30.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists as s enior. He led Pewaukee in all of those statistical categories and completed his high school career with 2,297 points.

Like Knueppel and Janowski, Pius XI Catholic senior Jaquan Johnson (5-11) competed in the Woodland West Conference and put up some huge numbers. The Bradley University recruit averaged 32.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and 8.9 assists for the up-tempo Popes. Johnson played four years of varsity basketball for coach Dan Carey and scored 2,473 points.

Junior Kai Rogers (6-11) of Wauwatosa West is one of the most highly recruited big men in the country's 2025 class. He averaged 20.0 points, 13.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 4.3 blocked shots as a junior while helping the Trojans to an 18-9 record. Rogers owns Division I offers from schools throughout the country, including both Marquette and Wisconsin.

River Falls senior Joey Butz (6-0) was picked Player of the Year in the Big Rivers Conference after helping the Wildcats to a 20-8 record. Butz averaged 21.5 points and 2.9 rebounds, but his biggest contribution was spreading the floor with his stellar shooting. He made 87-of-208 tries from behind the three-point arc for 42 percent.

Ty Fernholz (6-2) helped Stoughton win the Badger Small Conference title and was named the league's Player of the Year. The Division II recruit for Michigan Tech averaged 19.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists while helping the Vikings to a 24-4 record. He connected on 73-of-198 tries from deep for 37 percent.

Senior Tamarrein Henderson (6-3) played key roles on Panther squads that played in the state tournament in each of the past three seasons. The athletic, mobile wing is a strong defender who also contributed 19.3 ppg, 6.2 rpg and 3.9 apg for a team that went 25-4. He is headed to Division II University of Mary on a basketball scholarship.

Senior Adam Loberger (6-4) of Fox Valley Lutheran was voted Player of the Year in the North Eastern Conference the past two seasons. He averaged 22.5 points and 8.3 rebounds for the Foxes, who won the league title and went 24-3 overall under coach Jay Wendland.

Michael McNabb Jr. (6-5) of Grafton is one of the more prolific players in the 2024 class. The four-year varsity performer scored 2,157 during his career. He had a monster senior season, averaging 28.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.7 steals. He scored a career-best 48 points for the Black Hawks in a win over Onalaska. McNabb is headed to Division II Northern Michigan.
