Wausau West junior Sam Galang has been selected as the rSchoolToday Athlete of the Week for the week of March 25-31 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net. 

There were 8,982 total votes this week. Galang topped all vote getters with 4,294 votes. Hortonville's Olivia Peters came in second with 2,948.

Galang was electric for the Wausau co-op boys lacrosse team over the weekend. The junior willed his team to a pair of wins over the weekend at D.C. Everest. First in an 11-3 win over the Sun Prairie co-op, Galang netted a trio of goals himself from his attackmen position. He followed that up with a nuclear performance in a 19-4 win over Superior. Galang finished with seven goals and four assists in the victory. Over the two games he scored ten goals and added four assists, scoring 14 points total.
