Boyceville freshman Aubrey Malean has been selected as the rSchoolToday Athlete of the Week for the week of April 1-7 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net. 

There were 2,025 total votes this week. Malean topped all vote getters with 934 votes. Oshkosh West's Laney Wiebel came in second with 666.

Malean was lights out in her first four career varsity games for the Boyceville softball team last week. The freshman hurler began her high school career by pitching a three-hit, six-inning shutout in a 10-0 win over Spring Valley. She struck out ten batters and also went three for three from the plate with an RBI and three runs scored, including two stolen bases. Malean then pitched a complete game in a 3-1 win over Elk Mound, striking out eight and allowing two hits, six walks, and one run (unearned). In her third game, she pitched a six-inning complete game, striking out ten and allowing one earned run in a 12-2 win over Gibraltar. She added three walks, two runs scored, and a stolen base from the plate. Malean finished her first week striking out five through three innings in a 20-0 win over Chetek-Weyerhaueser. She went one of three from the plate with a home run, four RBIs and three runs scored. For the week, Malean went 4-0 on the mound allowing just three runs (one earned). She struck out 33 batters in 22 innings.
