Mondovi senior Austin Remington has been selected as the rSchoolToday Athlete of the Week for the week of April 22-28 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net. 

There were 2,518 total votes this week. Remington topped all vote getters with 1,032 votes. Cedar Grove-Belgium's Cora Erickson came in second with 390.

Remington was exceptional from both the pitcher's plate and the batter's box this past week as the Mondovi baseball team went 3-0. The senior utility player took got the start and got the win Monday against Spring Valley, going five and two-thirds innings, striking out twelve batters and allowing two earned runs on four hits. From the plate, he went three for four with two RBIs and a run scored in the 7-4 victory. He then went one for three with a run scored in the 3-1 win over Colfax. Remington collected three more hits, two RBIs, and two runs scored in a 7-3 victory over Fall Creek. He pitched two innings to close things out, striking out four of the seven batters he faced.

Remington went two for four with an RBI, walk, and run scored in an 11-2 win over Glenwood City earlier this week and has the Buffaloes half a game out of first place in the Dunn-St. Croix standings.
