Kenosha St. Joseph senior Ava Rizzitano has been selected as the rSchoolToday Athlete of the Week for the week of April 29 - May 5 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net. 

There were 4,052 total votes this week. Rizzitano topped all vote getters with 1,323 votes. Blair-Taylor's Tavian Shramek came in second with 1,033.

Rizzitano was exceptional on the pitch this past week, willing the Kenosha St. Joseph girls soccer team to a pair of victories. The senior forward scored five goals and assisted on another in the Lancer's 8-2 win over Shoreland Lutheran. She followed that up with a hat trick, scoring all three goals, in the 3-1 win over Kenosha Bradford. Rizzitano sits atop the leaderboards on WSN with 32 goals scored on the season and is second in points with 68 total points scored in 2024.

In an 8-0 win over Racine Lutheran yesterday, May 8, Rizzitano netted an incredible seven goals herself, continuing her dominant senior year.
