Corey Nickel, Waupun -
Nickel has been a solid performer for the Warriors all season, and has picked his game up even more recently after fellow senior Austin Armga went out with an ankle injury. Counting the game Armga was injured, Nickel has scored 59 points in those three games. Overall he averaged 17 points per game in January as Waupun went 6-0.

Joel Lindberg, Superior -
Superior went a perfect 8-0 in the month of January and have taken control of the Lake Superior Conference. Lindberg recorded his second and third triple-doubles of the season during January. In a 75-63 win over Duluth East on January 7th he went for 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists while on January 29th against Ashland he had 38 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists. He nearly had triple-doubles in two other games as well, with lines of 22-11-8 and 20-9-8. Lindberg averaged 24 points per game during the month.

T.J. Bray, Catholic Memorial -
A tough early schedule prepared Catholic Memorial well, and the Crusaders showed just how much they've improved with a 6-0 January. Included in that month was a 67-61 win over Arrowhead, giving CMH a one-game lead in the Classic Eight standings at 8-0. Bray poured in 29 points in that game and provided his usual outstanding floor game from the point guard position. Bray averaged just shy of 15 points per game in January, and made an impact in every facet of the game with his play-making ability and sound leadership.

Blake Giese, Oconto -
It was quite the emotional roller-coaster in the later part of the month for the Oconto team. They suffered their first defeat of the season against Sturgeon Bay and saw their head coach suspended. Giese responded as you would hope a senior would by scoring a school-record 44 points the following game in a win over Gillett. On the month Giese averaged just over 20 points per game.

Austin Ryf, Winneconne -
Winneconne got off to a rough start, losing its first two games of January. However, the Wolves won six straight to close out the month and get themselves back into a tie for second place in the Eastern Valley Conference. Ryf was a big reason for that, as his scoring ability and all-around game was on full display in those six games. He averaged 24.5 points per game in that stretch (24 on the month) and was a factor in other areas as well. In a five game stretch he put up lines of (pts-rebs-asts-steals): 36-6-3-1, 26-10-2-3, 22-7-5-7, 25-6-5-6, and 27-10-3-5.
