On Deck: Edgewood College baseball nets six in-state players

Edgewood College baseball college coach Al Brisack has announced the commitment of six in-state recruits, who will join the Eagles program this fall.

 

The recruits include: Sussex Hamilton right-handed pitcher Taylor Hillman; Whitnall first baseman Alex Jaskulski and right-handed pitcher Brock McGinn; Waukesha Catholic Memorial second baseman/shortsto Casey Kula; Oconomowoc right-handed pitcher/outfielder Will Schlosser; and Bangor catcher/utility Ethan Anderson.

 

 "We like the group of guys that have committed from the state of Wisconsin who are hard workers, talented, and serious about school," Brisack said via e-mail. "These guys are another testament to the quality high school coaching in the state."

Taylor Hillman, RHP, Sussex Hamilton

2009 – BA .341;  ERA 3.23; 47.2 innings; 37K s; 3-3 record; 1 save

2010 – in progress (started year with one-hitter vs. Arrowhead)



Alex Jaskulski, 1B, Whitnall

Four-Year Varsity player and starter at first base

2009 -- .488 batting average, .532 on-base percentage, .808 slugging percentage, 17- doubles, four triples, five home runs, 38 RBI, 11 stolen bases, first-team all-Woodland South Conference, first-team all-suburban, second-team all-district, honorable mention all-area.



Brock McGinn, RHP, Whitnall

2009  -- earned Woodland South Conference second-team honors

2010 -- 3-1 on the year, 0.00 ERA (based on last numbers received)



Casey Kula, 2B/SS, Waukesha Catholic Memorial

Three-year varsity starter

2008  -- batted .302 with one home run and four doubles with 13 stolen bases.

2009  -- batted .353 with six doubles and three triples and 17-for-17 stolen bases.

2010 -- batting .454 with four doubles and nine stolen bases; Team Captain



Will Schlosser, RHP/OF, Oconomowoc

2009 -- Earned Little Ten Conference honorable mention honors

Voted hardest worker and most coach-able by the coaching staff.

2010 -- Earned Little Ten Conference first-team honors, finished with 35 hits and team-high 35 runs scored.

 

Ethan Anderson, C/UTIL, Bangor
