I like about high school sports: the different relationships you form with coaches and your teammates.
I like playing baseball because: I m a competitive person and I love pitching and being involved in that one-on-one battle against the hitter. It s me against the batter and it s not just one pitch but an entire series. It could be a nine-pitch at bat. You know what s coming and they don t. If it s a big game, I want the ball in my hand."
Team bonding moments: Bus rides on road trips … Every year before the playoffs we get together at one of my teammates houses and shave our heads or buzz ‘em.
Baseball superstitions: On the days I m starting, I usually don t talk to anyone before the game. I try to focus on the game.
