BASEBALL



Position

Matt Johnson, Sophomore (Windsor/DeForest), Outfield of UW-La Crosse


Johnson hit .417 in seven starts last week, going 10-of-24.  He had four doubles, two home runs, seven RBI and three runs scored.  Johnson had four multi-hit games during the week, including going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI in UW-La Crosse s 6-1 victory over UW-Platteville on April 28.  Johnson went 4-for-7 with five RBI and three runs scored in a doubleheader split at UW-Stevens Point on May 2. He also finished with one double and two home runs in the twinbill.

Pitcher



Mitch Running, Freshman (Eau Claire/North), Righthanded Pitcher of UW-La Crosse


Running went 1-0 with a 1.00 earned run average in two appearances last week. He earned a 4-2 victory at UW-Stevens Point on May 1, pitching 8.0 innings, allowing seven hits, two runs (one earned) and four walks with seven strikeouts.  Running leads the WIAC with a 2.44 earned run average.
