11:52 p.m. -- Eric Zuberbier leads off the Foxes seventh with a single, the first lead-off batter to reach base tonight for Fox Valley Lutheran.

Mario Minnaert makes a great hustle play on Samuel Kossow's pop up in short right field. Minnaert makes a running catch near the right-field line for the first out.

A strikeout and infield out and Edgewood advances to the Division 2 state championship game with a 12-2 win over the Foxes.

So much for quick games. Remember when Fox Valley Lutheran was leadign 2-1 after five innings? It is 11:51, just 11 minutes away from last night's 12:02 a.m. finish.

11:43 p.m. -- Christiaan Webers singles to right to load the bases and then Tim Longo singles to drive in two more runs for a 12-2 Edgewood lead.

Combined with Bloomer's 13-0 win over Lakeside Lutheran, the winning teams in Division 2 have outscored the losing teams 25-2 tonight.

11:39 p.m. --
Robert Parman just walked, the 13th Edgewood batter to draw a walk tonight which sets a Division 2 tournament record.

11:37 p.m. --
Chris Ritter is hit by a pitch to open the Edgewood seventh.

11:34 p.m. --
Curtin retires the Foxes in order, striking out Max Vermeern to end the inning. We go to the seventh with Edgewood holding a 10-2 lead.

11:30 p.m. --
Edgewood sent 13 batters to the plate, scoring nine runs on three hits with six walks and a fielder's choice to jump out to a 10-2 lead entering the bottom of the sixth.

The half inning takes 30 minutes. Eight different Edgewood players scored in the inning with Connor Cosgrove scoring twice. Edgewood scored three runs on wild pitches and another on a passed ball.

Edgewood pulls starting pitcher Chris Ritter, who goes five innings. Joe Curtin will try to pitch the final two innings and save two innings for Ritter should Edgewood hold on and reach the championship game tomorrow.

1:14 p.m. -- Zuberbier allows an infield single to Christiaan Webers, who is injured and replaced by a pinch runner.

Three wild pitches score Ritter and Parman to extend the lead to 6-2.

Tim Longo draws a walk, the eighth Edgewood starter to draw a free pass tonight. Only lead-off hitter Kyle Hoen hasn't been issued a walk.

11:10 p.m. --
Robert Parman singles to left to score Minnaert for a 4-2 lead. Nick Hughes follows and draws the ninth walk of the game by Seidl, who is replaced by shortstop Eric Zuberbier.

11:09 p.m. --
Chris Ritter hits the hole between first and second and his single to right field scores Cosgrove and Scherschel to give Edgewood a 3-2 lead on only its second hit of the game.

11:08 p.m. -- After Kyle Hoen flies out to left, Mario Minneart draws walk on a 3-1 count to reach base for the third time in four plate appearances. That loads the bases and brings up Chris Ritter, who has grounded into a fielder's choice twice and walked.

11;00 p.m. -- Connor Cosgrove leads off the sixth for Edgewood. He has been hit by a pitch and executed a sacrifice bunt. His dad, Kevin, is the new defensive coordinator for the University of Minnesota football team.

Connor finds a way to get on base, drawing the seventh walk of the game off Seidl.

5th Inning --
Ritter retires the first two Fox Valley Lutheran batters before Eric Edler hits an infield single. Dan Gulbransen grounds out to first base to end the fifth.

10:50 p.m. --
Seidl now has seven strikeouts and six walks after striking out Robert Parman and Nick Hughes for the first two outs in the top of the fifth.

But Christiaan Webers delivers a big two-out hit with a sharp single to left field to score Ritter and pull Edgewood within 2-1. It is Edgewood's first hit.

10:46 p.m. --
Edgewood receives its sixth walk of the game as Chris Ritter heads to first base.

10:42 p.m. --
This is my third straight state tournament in as many weeks, including boys and girls track and field in La Crosse and softball in Madison, and this is the best media setup and atmosphere.

Although it is hard to beat the view of the bluffs overlooking the UW-La Crosse campus and the fast pace of the softball games.

4th Inning --
The Foxes go down in order and take a 2-0 lead into the fifth.

10:36 p.m. --
Cam Seidl went 3-0 on Edgewood lead-off hitter Kyle Haen before throwing him three straight strikes to strike him out for the third time this game.

Seidl then got Mario Minnaert to bounce into a fielder's choice to end the Edgewood threat and get the Foxes out of a bases-loaded jam.

10:35 p.m. -- Fox Valley Lutheran calls time out for an infield conference. The Crusaders have drawn five walks, a hit batsman and been the beneficiary of two errors but still no runs, no hits.

4th Inning -- Christiaan Webers draws a lead-off walk and Tim Longo reaches base on an error by Fox Valley Lutheran first baseman Derek Draeger to open the inning. The Crusaders nearly load the bases when Connor Cosgrove's sacrifice bunt gets past pitcher Cam Seidl. But Seidl hustles after the ball and barely gets Cosgrove at first. Zach Scherschel draws a walk to load the bases.

10:26 p.m. -- Ben Orheim bounces a 3-2 pitch past a diving second baseman Mario Minnaert into right field for the fourth straight hit fir the Foxes which scores Eric Edler to give Fox Valley Lutheran a 2-0 lead. But Ritter induces Willie Jensen to bounce into a double play to end the third inning.

10:23 p.m. --
The Foxes take a 1-0 lead when Dan Gulbransen singles to left to score Mahlik. Ritter has now given up three straight hits.

10:20 p.m. --
Noah Mahlik rips a shot into the left-field corner for a double and the Foxes's first hit. It is also the first hit of the game. Ritter had retired the first seven Fox Valley Lutheran batters. No. 9 hitter Eric Edler follows with a sharp single to right to put baserunners at the corners with one out.

3rd Inning -- Edgewood has had five baserunners so far but no hits. The Crusaders have runners at first and second with two outs. But Nick Hughes grounds out to the second baseman to end the inning.

The bullpens just past each of the dugouts are not in play for the state tournament although they are in play when the Midwest League Timber Rattlers are home.

2nd Inning --
Chris Ritter strikes out Max Vermeern and Brandon Hitter and retires Derek Draeger on a ground ball to shortstop.  Ritter has retired the first six Foxes in order.

10:00 p.m. --
Edgewood is making its third state tournament appearance and first since 2005. The Crusaders, who were ranked No. 1 in the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association preseason Division 2 poll, won the 2004 Division 2 state title in their first trip to the WIAA state tournament.

Prior to joining the WIAA, Edgewood were a perennial power in the WISAA state tournament in the 1950s and 60s. Edgewood won the Badger South Conference title and beat Portage 7-3 in the sectional final.

Nick Hughes draws a lead-off walk and Connor Cosgrove was hit by a pitch. But Seidl strikes out two to stymie the Crusaders in the top of the second inning.

9:57 p.m. --
This is Fox Valley Lutheran's second trip to state. The Foxes lost in the Division 2 semifinals in 2007. The champions of the Eastern Valley Conference, they beat West DePere 1-0 in the Xavier Sectional final.

The Foxes are retired 1-2-3 in the first inning on a pair of infield outs and a fly ball to left field that Eric Edler made a running catch on down the left field line.

9:47 p.m. --
Chris Ritter, who will pitch for the Crusaders, plays shortstop when he doesn't pitch. He was a third team all-state selection by the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association last year. He hits into a fielder's choice, erasing Minnaert at second base.

That brings up clean-up hitter Robert Parman, who is at shortstop tonight.

Both schools are wearing their school colors, maroon and grey tonight.

Parman grounds out to shortstop to end the Crusaders half of the first. The Foxes are coming up.

9:45 p.m. --
The first pitcher from Fox Valley Lutheran pitcher Cam Seidl is a strike and we are underway.

Kyle Haen goes down on strikes for the first out. Mario Minnaert, a three-sport athlete whose father, Al, is the Edgewood football coach, draws a walk in five pitches for the first baserunner of the game.

Bloomer (27-3) will meet the winner of Fox Valley Lutheran (21-2) and Madison Edgewood (23-4), which is scheduled to begin in about 35 minutes, around 9:40 p.m.

Leading hitters:

It's 9:02 and this game is in the books as Morning strikes out Tyler Guenterberg for his 10th strikeout of the game and finishes with a two-hit shutout.

8:58 p.m. -- Eternick strikes out swinging but Strohbusch gets an infield single and moves to second on a throwing error by Bloomer shortstop Wesley Stuckert.

7th Inning --
Lakeside Lutheran has managed just two baserunners off Bloomer pitcher Trevor Morning. In six innings, he has one walk and eight strikeouts. The Warriors will send Justin Eternick, Cole Strohbusch and Justin Brockman to face Morning. Strohbusch has the only hit, a lead-off single in the second inning.

8:53 p.m. --
Dachel scores on a wild pitch to make it 13-0. Bloomer now has 14 hits while Lakeside Lutheran has just one.

8:50 p.m.--  Matt Dachel lines a shot to right field for a triple to drive in two more runs and give the Blackhawks a 12-0 lead. That is Dachel's fourth hit of the game. Bloomer has now scored five runs in the seventh. It is the 11th time this season it has scored 10 or more runs.

8:43 p.m. -- It's been party time for Bloomer tonight -- a hit party -- with the Blackhawks banging out 12 hits, including a double by Erik Reischel, who just chased King from the mound. Aaron Struck is now in to pitch for Lakeside Lutheran.

Josh Schemenauer (4-4), Matthew Bohl (2-3, BB) and Erik Reischel (1-2, 2 HBPs) are a combined 7-for-9 and have reached base 10 times in 12 plate appearances.

8:30 p.m. --  Josh Schemenauer lined a shot off the left-field wall for a double and his fourth hit of the game. He has led off three innings with hits. Matthew Bohl followed with a walk and the duo have been on base a combined seven times in eight plate appearances tonight.

6th Inning -- Bloomer still leads 7-0. The Blackhawks 7-8-9 batters are up. Josh Schemenauer (3-3), Matthew Bohl (2-3) and Erik Reischel (0-1, 2 HBPs) are a combined 5-for-7 and have reached base seven times in nine plate appearances.

8:30 p.m. --
It's making the game move quickly but Lakeside Lutheran is going after the first pitch without much success. Morning has now retired 11 batters in a row and 15 of the last 16.

8:28 p.m. -- Bloomer has had 16 baserunners, including 11 hits -- three each by Matt Dachel and Josh Schemenauer.

5th Inning -- Bloomer made it 7-0 when Matthew Bohl reached on a fielder's choice, stole second and scored on Trevor Mornings RBI-single.

Morning has been tough to crack for Lakeside Lutheran, which has managed only a lead-off single in the second inning by Cole Strohbusch and a one-out walk in the third to Brian King. Through five innings, Morning has struck out six but also been the beneficiary of several outstanding plays. That included running catches in foul territory in the fifth inning by catcher Erik Reischel and first baseman Matt Dachel.

8:17 p.m. -- Bloomer loaded the bases against Strohbusch in the fourth on a lead-off double by Josh Schemenauer and Matthew Bohl's single to left. Strohbusch then hit catcher Erik Reischel with a pitch for the second time in the game and the third Blackhawk batter in the game.

Brian King came in from playing second base to relieve Strohbusch but couldn't stem the tide. After King walked Trevor Morning to force in a run, he gave up a double to Alex Koehler that scored two runs with a third run scoring on an error by right fielder Tyler Guenterberg. Wesley Stuckert followed with a sacrifice fly and Bloomer had a 6-0 lead.

8:15 p.m. -- We're back after a break and some computer problems with Bloomer now in front 6-0 in the top of the fifth inning.

The Blackhawks chased Lakeside Lutheran starter Cole Strohbusch in the fourth inning and scored five runs to break the game open.

7:15 p.m. -- Josh Schemenauer delivered a run-scoring single to stake Bloomer to a 1-0 lead in the second inning.

Lakeside Lutheran pitcher Cole Strohbusch has already hit two Blackhawks hitters with a pitch tonight.  But he escaped further damage when Cory Loppnow tracked down a deep fly ball to center field off the bat of Trevor Morning with the bases loaded and two outs in the top of the second inning.

7:10 p.m. -- Bloomer scored 10 or more runs in a game 10 times this season, including 18 twice and 17 once. The Blackhawks also entered sectional play wit 110 stolen bases in 114 attempts.

1st Inning --
Alex Koehler was hit by a pitch with one out for Bloomer. But he was quickly erased when Wesley Stuckert bounced into a 3-6 double play.

Lakeside Lutheran went down in order 1-2-3.

It is a gorgeous early summer evening in the Grand Chute at Fox Cities Stadium.

Bloomer's uniforms resemble those worn by the University of Texas Longhorns with brown jerseys and white pants with a dark vertical stripe on the outside of each pant leg.

6:54 p.m. -- With are a few minutes away from throwing he first pitch.
