Wisconsin Players Taken in MLB Draft

Major League Baseball recently held it's annual First-Year Player Draft, and there were a number of players that played their high school baseball in Wisconsin that were chosen.  Several of the players are graduating seniors that are committed to attend college, or would likely have been chosen much higher. 



Kevin James, LHP from Whitefish Bay (committed to Boston College) - Tampa Bay Devil Rays...#289 in the 9th round



Scott Matyas, RHP from Kettle Moraine (Univ. of Minnesota) - New York Yankees...#855 in the 29th round



Aaron Dott, LHP from Green Lake (UW-Whitewater) - Tampa Bay Devil Rays...#949 in the 31st round



Joel Effertz, RHP from Ladysmith (committed to Arizona) - Los Angeles Dodgers...#1117 in the 37th round



Cullen Sexton, RHP from Stevens Point (Univ. of Minnesota) - Milwaukee Brewers...#1126 in the 37th round (second year in a row he has been drafted by Milwaukee) 



Matthew Nohelty, CF from D.C. Everest (Univ. of Minnesota) - Seattle Mariners...#1133 in the 38th round 



Brad Schreiber, RHP from Kimberly (committed to Purdue) - Milwaukee Brewers...#1276 in the 42nd round



Charles Markson, RF from Whitefish Bay (committed to Notre Dame) - Detroit Tigers...#1320 in the 44th round
