McDonell Central earned a D-4 state tournament berth by beating fellow Cloverbelt Conference foe Gilman 10-0 in six innings while Hurley was beating up on Frederic, 13-2 in six innings. When the two teams met in the finale it was all McDonell in a 7-0 win. The #1 ranked team will now take on 2006 State Champion Highland which advanced to state with a 2-1 win in nine innings over New Lisbon.
