Say Hey Willie tell Ty Cobb and Joe Dimaggio!

Hello Everyone

Call him Mr. 292

Dave  Koeller, Head Coach at Bonduel just wrapped up another year at the helm there and his win total is 292. There is no posted milepost of 292 wins but I think it's important to know just how close he is to that 300 win List. Congratulations Dave.

So the second round of regionals in Division 2-3 and 4 are now history. A quick look at the results on the WIAA tournament pages shows that I'm still doing pretty well on my predictions from last week. In Division 4 Lincoln seems to have snuck under my radar as they beat Pepin last night. Lincoln was the #2 seed and Pepin the #3. Highland bumped off Potosi last night but that wasn't a surprise to anyone really in the know. It was a toss-up game from the beginning. Now Highland will play River Ridge in Patch Grove for the regional title. De Soto still seems solid in that regional, at least to me. Butternut/Glidden and Hurley go at it again in the regional final up north. That game is in Butternut/Glidden's home area.

That Bay Port Sectional is a tough one in Division 4. Rosholt, Thorp, and St. Mary Central along with Wausuakee make it very interesting. I picked both Thorp and Rosholt to make it to Madison when I did the predictions. It must have been really late at night. I'm calling this sectionall too close to call. Thorp appears to be really on their overall game. Rosholt has a shutout pitcher.

In Division 2 Portage stuggled defensively but came out on top to face Columbus on Thursday. I'll be at that game as it's 5 miles from home, Columbus is a Capitol Conference member and I have lots and lots of great friends in Portage, as well as family. I'd like to be able to split myself and be in Freedom tomorrow for that game against Little Chute. It will be worth the price of admission or the gas it costs to get there. There are some really great regional final matchups in Division 2, just check them out. They're all tough!

In Division 3, it's a matchup between Horicon and Luther Prep. I'd like to be in Horicon too. The Wabeno/Laona vs Crandon game is another one that fans in that area should try to be at. Algoma and Sevastopol is another great matchup. How about Shoreland Lutheran and Thomas More. That's another great game to try to get to. If I threw all the games to be played on in my Fastpitch Chronicle cap and drew out one to drive to and the one that came out were the Spring Valley at Arcadia game I sure wouldn't be disappointed. Two great teams, two excellent coaches and one great matchup! Take it in if you are in the area. Westby pulled off the biggest upset in Division 3 when they beat Luther, the #1 seed.

In Division 1 there are some interesting regionals. For instance, one has SPASH, Oshkosh West, Kimberly and Kaukauna in it. The winner of that sectional which also includes Beaver Dam, Sheboygan North, Manitowoc Lincoln and West Bend East will take on the sectional winner that includes Racine Case, Oak Creek, Waterford, Pius, Greenfield and Muskego.

Sectional #2 is another tough one with Appleton North, Appleton East, Hortonville, Ashwaubenon and Pulaski in it.

The final rankings should be posted tomorrow (Thursday as this is being written on Wednesday). The ranking thing just didn't work as well this year as it had when the scores and games reports were on The Fastpitch Chronicle website. I need to refine some things before next season to clean that all up. There are so many schools that failed to get on board on the site so records and reports don't show up and rankers have a tough time.

Have a great day watching all those games that are out there.
