For the first time in 21 years of its existence, the Poynette Fastpitch Jamboree has been forced to cancel the Friday slate of games.

 

"We waited and kept checking various radar views and it appeared that there is no way that we are not going to get storms in the afternoon," said Poynette coach and Jamboree Director Bob Tomlinson.

 

There were 15 games on the docket for today. There are 28 games scheduled for Saturday.

 

"We've been blessed over the years with not having a deal like this," said Tomlinson. "It's been a crazy, bizarre spring."
