Hey, that one looked like a frozen rope!

Hello Everyone – The WIAA boy s state basketball tournament was two weekends ago so somebody must have forgotten to send a memo to the weather because yesterday s huge snowstorm that passed through this part of the state dumped 14" of snow on my driveway and sidewalks. The weather experts can just drive right on out here and measure it if they don t believe that. Before it started to snow, the softball field in Poynette had no snow in the outfield and just a little bit of stuff on the infield. That s not the case today!

I have now copied and pasted all the information from The Fastpitch Chronicle 2008 Preseason Team Previews to the Wisconsin Sports Network website. So, you can read the same stuff on both sites for now. There are far, far too many schools and conference with no information what-so-ever.

I ll keep pestering people to get some information on there in the next week.

I haven t heard from a single Wisconsin school that went to Florida as to whether they are winning or losing games down there. Those scores are always hard to get from them.

There is new information from schools on that Conference Preview page on the wissports.net site so check those out. Waunakee has submitted one along with some others.

If you re writing down and keeping track of players in the state worth watching then add Lindsay Garay of Northwestern High School in Maple to that list. She s the pitcher there and is a must to be added to our list of players to watch.

There should be an announcement on the wissports.net softball site about a collegiate softball exposure camp to be held in Ashwaubenon in August. It will be a first of its kind in Wisconsin and will feature 192 players from across the Midwest including no more than 50 from Wisconsin. Keep checking in on the site to catch that information.

Another former Wisconsin high school player now playing Division 1 softball is all state pitcher Katie Stillwell of Portage who is playing at Seton Hall.

The staff at wissports.net is now ready to set up an account for you where you can do the following things. Just send me a message that you d like and account and I will forward it to the correct people in the office.
