Hello Again Everyone – It s really late as I type this tonight (11:00 PM). Badger basketball was a priority tonight.

I posted a couple of team previews today. New Glarus of the Capitol South and Madison Memorial of the Big 8 are now there. There is at least one other Big 8 preview there as Janesville Craig s is on there too.

Here are a few more former Wisconsin High School players who are playing collegiate softball: Amy Malcore of Luxemburg-Casco is playing at Marion; Kayla Krueger of Denmark is playing at St. Norbert; Tracy Palmer of New London is also at St. Norbert; Emily Edgerton of Wausau West is at St. Cloud State, Katie Hendrickson of Verona is at St. Cloud State, Emily Delong of Rothschild is at Monmouth; Sam Schmeltzer of Merrill is playing at UW-Green Bay.

A couple more excellent high school players to keep an eye on and travel to watch play are Lindsey Miller, senior shortstop at Wausau West and Eryn Edgerton a junior pitcher at Wausau West. Altoona sophomore EmmaLee Eckardt had a great freshman season and should be a player of interest for the next three years.

The number of head coach e-mail keeps getting bigger as more and more of them are finding the messages and getting back to me. I m still about 150 short of 100% however.

UW-Oshkosh is heading for their spring trip on Friday. That word from head coach Cindy Suess in an e-mail today.

I learned today that the Wisconsin Badgers got commitments from three out of state players who will graduate in 2009. They are Shannell Blackshear (first sacker) from the Arizona Desert Thunder; Kendall Grimm of the Kansas City (outfielder)Zephyrs Gold; and Meghan MacIntosh of (also a first sacker?) from the Arizona Desert Thunder.

I saw in the Wisconsin State Journal today that the Badgers are 7-19 after losing two games on Wednesday to Sacramento State. It was good to see that freshman walk-on pitcher Kristyn Hansen of Union Grove entered in the second game in the first inning and pitched well in relief. She replaced former Kaukauna pitcher Leah Van Evenhoven. Californian, Letty Olivarez allowed seven runs (five earned) on nine hits in 4 1/3 innings of the first game, won by Sacramento State 8-6. The second game score was 5-1.

West Bend East Coach Ron Held reported today that he was taking his team outside on their field for the first time. He said there was no snow on their outfield. We didn t have any snow on our outfield today either but we practiced at 8 am all week and it was not fit to be outside then.

As far as setting up accounts on the wissports.net site, give us a few days to get things really going there. I ll send your e-mails to the office in Monona and they will get you set up.

Send in those previews, there is still plenty of time. Send me the e-mail addresses of the assistant coaches at your school. If you are a high school assistant coach and are reading these bulletins, be sure to e-mail to me so I can add you to the coaches e-mail list I have been compiling.

Hey, it s really late now.

Have a great day!

Keep it Rising!

Bob
