There are several good teams in the Trailways South including defending Division 4 state champion Williams Bay, Dodgeland and Deerfield. Williams Bay will have to replace an excellent pitcher while Dodgeland returns a fine one in junior Tieraney Planasch. Deerfield's pitcher Ashley Gulbranson is also an excellent pitcher and gives the Demons a chance to take the top spot in the conference. Both Dodgeland and Deerfield are WIAA Division 4 schools.

Johnson Creek -

Dodgeland- Coach Michelle Biwer - Coming off a fairly solid 2007 year in which we encountered some bumps and growing pains Dodgeland will be looking to get back to the top of the conference. Dodgeland will be lead by Tieraney Planasch(Jr.) in the circle. She is a two time first team all-conference player. We have 9 returning letter winners, 6 returning starters. Surrounding her will be a solid infield with 2nd team all-conference players Alli Wild at first (Sr.) and Liz Frisbie(Sr.) behind the plate. Heather Grossman(Sr.) will anchor third while Kassy Kluge (So.) will be starting her second season at 2nd base. Anchoring the outfield will be Veronique Cole (Sr.) in centerfield. Sophmores Jessica Spern , Morgan Lundequam, and Lauren Stach will play an important part in filling the defense and offense. I am looking for someone to step up and fill the shoes left by

first team All-Conference shortstop Steph Kuntz. We have some very energetic

freshmen looking to make an impact and help us back to the top of the

conference. But to get to the top we will have to get through Deerfield,

Williams Bay, and Johnson Creek. They along with the other conference teams

like Pardeeville and Rio will make it a tough road, but we re willing to accept

the challenge.

Williams Bay- Coach Jeff Kuespert -The Bulldogs enter the 2008 season riding a 17 game win streak, back-to-back Trailways South Conference titles and a State Championship. With a very strong Trailways South Conference, this years conference title is up for grabs. However, Williams Bay returns 7 starters off of last years team that went 24-2 (43-4 the past two seasons) including 2nd team All-State shortstop Caroline Starck (Jr.). 1st team All-Conference catcher Megan Hovestol (Sr.), 1st team outfielder Brittany Carlson (Sr.), and 2nd team All-Conference 3rd base Brenda Gary (Jr.). Look for Williams Bay to be right in the mix for another conferene title and potentially go deep into the play-offs again this year.

Rio - Coach Jennifer Prochnow -

Deerfield - Coach Barry Witkowski - 2nd Year - Deerfield is looking to improve on their 15-6 record from last year.  The 2007 regional champions return 8 girls who started for them last year, 7 of them full time.  That includes 2 time 1st team all-conference player Ashley Gulbranson in the circle,  catcher Tiagan Dahl(1st team all conference), Casey Schmoeger(2nd team all-conference) at short, and Dana Taylor(2nd team all-conference) at 1st base. Finishing out a very solid defensive is Seniors Hanna Davis in left and Aase Quamme in right field, Juniors Tara Gosdeck at 3rd and catcher along with Taylor Borgrud at 1st ,3rd, and outfield, Sophomores Callie Dahl and Sirri Borrud at 2nd and 3rd base, and freshman Kayla Gosdeck in Center. We are also looking for contributions from Kayla Lowrey(jr), Katie Lowrey(jr), Cheyenne Korth(so), and Maddy Podmolik(fr). Conference play will be exciting and challenging this year as the Demons will push Dodgeland, defending State Champion Williams Bay,  Johnson Creek, Pardeeville and Rio for the title.
