Cumberland - finished 2nd and returns everyone except a good catcher. Will need

to score runs to win it all.

Barron - finished 3rd and also returns everyone except #2 pitcher. No trouble

scoring runs but will need pitching to win it all.

Chetek - returns the best pitching staff in the conference and had several

other good young players last year.

Spooner - returns everyone and was very competitive by the seasons end, needs

pitching but could surpise people.

Bloomer returns a good nucleus and had a very good jv team as well.

Ladysmith also returns a most of their better players.

Northwestern - Will struggle this year, will have solid pitching and catching,

but will depend on a lot of young players to play major roles. Last year Northwestern finished with it's 4th consecutive conference championship(20-2) and lost to Rice Lake(2nd at state) in reg. finals. It looks as though the run may be over. We have an excellent pitcher returning, Lindsay Garay, Bob, you know her as she has attended several of your camps up here. Please list Lindsay as a player to watch, not only is she a good pitcher but also may be the best hitter in the conference. Unfortunately, she may be on her own as we lost a returning 1st team all-conference ss to basketball knee injury along with three seniors that were 1st team also.

Hayward - was young last year but will definetly be more competetive this year.

Note: If Bloomer and/or Ladysmith get solid pitching they will play a role in who

ends up at the top.
