Hello Again Everyone.

I spent the entire weekend in St. Paul and Bloomington along with about 85-90 other fastpitch softball folks at the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Coaches College Class at the College of St. Catherine's in St. Paul.

John Tschida, Kirk Walker and Connie Clark were the instructors and it was a great way to spend a fall weekend. About 20 hours of classroom work where the crux of the class was analysis of pitching, hitting and the short game. That included some excellent video, still slides and other things as well as some great drills from all of the instructors.

It was tough to always keep in mind that the class was about analysis and that there are other classed devoted to some things that were surely going through people's mind as they were mine.

For me, it was encouraging to know that the hitting technique that I have been teaching forever is the same stuff that they covered in St. Paul. I've never waivered on what I thought great hitters in had in common.

Wisconsin folks that took advantage of the class included:

Jared Faherty, who by the way was named head coach at Chippewa Falls last Tuesday.

John Ruffolo of Kenosha Bradford

Todd Breuer of Weyauwega-Fremont

Marc Baehnman of Weyauwega-Fremont (he won a T-shirt in one of the drawings)

Jody Gabriel of the UW-River Falls

Rebecca Albrecht of Hudson

Kello Kerkow of St. Croix Falls

Tamra Kielty of Elkhorn

Bob Meixner from Mondovi and head of the Batgirls

Pam Latterell of UW-River Falls

Melissa Petersen of St. Croix Falls

Terry Wagner of Cedarburg

Steve Wammer of Northland College (Ashland)[/left] It was also a pleasure to meet and speak with Stephanie Winter of the University of Michigan. Stephanie played on that great Michigan team that won the Women's College World Series and is now a student coach there, looking to get into coaching after earning her undergraduate degree in the spring. Good luck Stephanie.

It was also a pleasure to meet and talk to Vickie Sax of Colgate. She is really eager and will be watching the Fastpitch Chronicle website pretty closely.

Here are a couple of announcements I promised people I'd make.

Cedarburg is seeking one team to fill out there great invite on the last Saturday of April in 2008. Contact Terry Wagner at wag5792@aol.com
