Here's to Not Giving Up, Ever-Longer Digital Trails and Random Acts of Pinkness

Yes, this post is three days late (the goal is every Monday like clockwork, which says something about the clocks around here). And no, we aren't going to waste a lot of words apologizing for or rationalizing away our tardiness. We will, however, turn this particular post into a pep talk to ourselves and everyone else in the Wisconsin volleyball community.

Let's none of us give up. Let's keep sharing positive information online -- any possible way we can.

Compared to last year (or the years before that), there's a much, much longer "digital trail" of quality information about volleyball in Wisconsin. Traditional newspapers are upgrading their online presences. WisSports.Net has dedicated sections to the sport. And, of course, we're also doing what we can over at Cheese & Volleyball.

Only trouble is it's never enough. It pains us to know that great teams, players and performances are going unheralded at every level on a daily basis, especially when we're getting handed good information on a silver platter. We just don't have the time or resources to process everything and it's discouraging.

But let's none of us give up.

Whenever we can, let's share about conference showdowns that feature two of the best players in the Woodland Conference: Jenny Ciriacks of Wauwatosa West and Monique Morris of Brown Deer squared off last night in a classic battle that was won by Tosa West. According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the aforementioned players had 40 kills between them.

And let's spread the word about last Thursday's FST (i.e. Five Set Thriller) that saw Oshkosh Lourdes outlast Valley Christian (that news is currently buried, among other places, in the comments section to a C&V preview post).

Let's never give up. Let's create that digital trail. Let's spread the word about the great volleyball in this state.

And while we're on the subject of never giving up, let's also never give up in the fight against breast cancer. We're going to pick five random "pink" games from our "Pink Links" list and donate $10 to each. We encourage you to consider doing the same. Thanks and we'll post over here again on Monday, we promise.
