Name:
Jeremy Rahm

School: Colby

Grade: Senior

Football Honors: Three-year varsity performer for the Hornets ... Led Colby in receptions and receiving yards as a junior when he earned second-team all-conference honors in the Cloverbelt Conference … Saw action on special teams and in spot situations as a sophomore for a Colby squad that finished 14-0 and won the WIAA Division 5 state championship … Will likely see action at defensive back and wide receiver as a senior.

Basketball Honors: Three-year varsity performer .... Averaged a team-best 14.5 points per game as a junior en route to receiving first-team all-conference honors in the Eastern Division of the Cloverbelt Conference … Helped Colby to a 15-9 mark as a junior and 21-1 record as a sophomore when he averaged 5.1 points per game.

Baseball Honors: Four-year varsity letter winner …. A versatile athlete who has played in the outfield, at shortstop and second base while in addition to pitcher … Received second-team all-league recognition as a junior in the outfield.

Favorite Sport: “I consider football my favorite sport. It gets you back into the sport mode after summer, and it’s fun to get out there with all your buddies and hit people. It’s also fun to play under the lights in front of big crowds.”

Best Part of High School Sports: “I like traveling on busses to away games and being with all my friends. It’s fun to compete with your buddies against teams that you know well because we are from the same part of the state. You get to know your opponents pretty well and that is something I enjoy as well.”

Most Memorable Moment in High School Sports: “In the football playoffs in 2008 I came up with a game-ending interception against St. Mary’s Springs in the sectional finals. We then got the chance to go to the state tournament and beat Cedar Grove in the state finals at Camp Randall Stadium.”

Best Advice Received from High School Coach: “Sometimes you may not like the way things are going, but you have to bite your tongue at times and get through it. You may not always agree with your coaches, but you have to fight through it and keep playing.”

Best Part of Playing Three Sports: “You get to try three different sports. You can be with more of your friends by playing three different sports. It’s fun to try different things and go to different places for all three of the sports.”

Toughest Part of Playing Three Sports: “In the summer, it’s tough because you have summer basketball and seven-on-seven football. You have to make sure you set out enough time for each sport. You need to put in the time for each sport instead of concentrating on just one or two of the sports.”

Favorite Opponent: Thorp.

Favorite College Team: Wisconsin Badgers.

Favorite Professional Teams: Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks, Milwaukee Brewers.

Cumulative GPA: 3.20.

College Plans: “I may attend either UW-Eau Claire or UW-Stevens Point. I’m not really sure about playing sports … maybe I will, but I’m not sure at this point. I plan to study accounting and business.”

Activities Outside of Sports: Help out at Colby youth basketball camps, umpire some Little League baseball games, work as a counselor at Vocational Bible School.

I Find it Relaxing to: “Go hunting … bear, coon and deer. I go hunting mainly around my home, though we do go to the Medford area for beat hunting. I also like to play cards with my friends.”
