Favorite Sport: “It is definitely basketball. I would say playing basketball just comes a bit more natural to me. It’s more intense and more fun to play. It was also the first sport I started on varsity for as a freshman at Lancaster.”

Best Part of High School Sports: “Everyone knows who you are when you play sports and it’s a lot of fun to go out and play with your friends. Many of my friends are three-sport athletes like I am so I’ve played with the same group of girls since I moved here in fourth grade from Hillsboro.”

Most Memorable Moment in High School Sports: “Going to state in softball as a sophomore and junior. And this year, it was the first time we’ve ever won conference for volleyball so that was a lot of fun as well.”

Best Advice Received from High School Coach: “Actually, when I mess up I take it very hard. But all of my coaches have told me that if I didn’t have potential, they wouldn’t put in that position. So they have given me confidence to always try and not be afraid of failure. They have definitely helped me reach my potential.”

Best Part of Playing Three Sports: “You never have a break. You are always staying busy. There are a few weeks off between volleyball and basketball seasons, and there is nothing to do. It is so boring. I always want something to do and sports have always meant a lot to me. When I’m between sports, I start to prepare for the next sport.”

Toughest Part of Playing Three Sports: “Obviously, it’s tough when you have away games. It seems like those are the nights when you get the most homework. One of the toughest tests I’ve ever had came from my basketball coach the day after a game. You think he would cut us some slack, but he didn’t, at least not for that particular test.”

Favorite Opponent: “In volleyball, it would be River Valley. We always look forward to playing River Valley. In basketball, we’ve always lost to Cuba City, but it’s a lot of fun to play them because of the challenge involved. We always say we are going to be the first team to beat Cuba City. In softball, it would be River Valley and La Crosse Aquinas.”

Favorite College Team: Wisconsin Badgers, Western Carolina (uncle Dennis Wagner is the head coach at the school).

Favorite Professional Teams: Boston Celtics, Miami Dolphins.

Cumulative GPA: 3.63.

Toughest Individual You’ve Competed Against: “From Cuba City, Katie Langmeier. I always have to guard her because I’m one of the tallest girls on our team. She is very good in basketball so it’s a huge challenge to try to stop her.”

College Plans: “I will play basketball in college and I want to get into dentistry. At this point, I’m looking at William Penn, Clarke College, Kirkwood Community College and Upper Iowa.”

Activities Outside of Sports: National Honor Society, Leo Club, officiate youth basketball games in Lancaster.

I Find it Relaxing to: “I like to hang around with my friends. I also like to do things with my family. After a very hard day of practice, my friends sometimes come over and we go in our family hot tub to relax. It’s a lot of fun.”
