Favorite Sport: “Basketball is my favorite sport because I feel it utilizes athleticism in its entirety. Basketball incorporates skills such as ball handling, shooting and passing, but it also involves endurance because of all the running involved. It’s also the sport I have the most fun with.”

Best Part of High School Sports: “Getting to know your teammates from the three different sports, as well as getting to know the players from the other teams in your conference. It is really fun to compete at this level.”

Most Memorable Moment in High School Sports: “My sophomore year at the state soccer tournament, I scored the winning goal with one second left in overtime off a corner kick to win us a state title. That is my most memorable moment. It was against Catholic Memorial.”

Best Advice Received from High School Coach: “I have received a lot of great advice from all of my coaches, but the thing that stands out the most deals with leadership and trying to be a leader by setting an example to my teammates on the floor.”

Best Part of Playing Three Sports: “I think it’s a lot of fun to always be doing something. I like to compete and going from one sport to another always keeps me busy. I love it. I couldn’t imagine playing just one sport or maybe two sports. I love playing all three.”

Toughest Part of Playing Three Sports: “Sacrificing my free time. Practices are long at times so getting homework done can be a challenge. Sports certainly take up my free time, even over the weekends with all of our practices.”

Favorite Opponent: “In basketball, it’s Monroe. In soccer, we have great games with McFarland. And in volleyball, it would have to be Monona Grove.”

Favorite College Team: Wisconsin Badgers, South Carolina-Aiken.

Favorite Professional Teams: “In football, it’s the Philadelphia Eagles. For basketball, it’s the Portland Trail Blazers. Wesley Matthews is a friend of mine.”

Cumulative GPA: 3.68.

Toughest Individual You’ve Competed Against: “Last year in basketball and volleyball, I competed against Jamie Armstrong of Monroe. I became friends with her through our competition. Her height made her tough in basketball, and in volleyball, she was just outstanding. She’s a very good competitor and hard worker.”

College Plans: “Attend South Carolina-Aiken and play basketball. I will miss volleyball and soccer, but basketball is my favorite sport so I’ll be fine.”

Activities Outside of Sports: National Honor Society, member of Sisters Taking Active Roles (STAR), community service at St. Martin House, volunteer coach for youth soccer, Edgewood Yearbook, community service within Dane County, worked at Edgewood youth volleyball camp.

I Find it Relaxing to: “To relax, I like to listen to music on my Ipod. I also like to take naps whenever possible. I have a very busy schedule so getting in a nap now and then is great.”
