The Racine Case girls basektball team has been on a roll as of late, and picked up two huge victories en route to this week's Splash of the Week.

The Eagles knew the second full week of December would be a good gauge to see where this year's team stood. And disappoint they did not as Case effectively knocked off Southeastern Conference rival Franklin and perennial power Milwaukee King to move to 4-1 overall on the season.

Fresh off a hard-fought 64-58 win over a tough Oak Creek squad, Case got a game-high 20 points from Jameeka Bouie and 15 more from highly-touted senior and Iowa-commit Sam Logic to pull away from Franklin in the second half Friday. The Eagles then turned around and played a pesky King squad in a Top-10 Division 1 matchup where Logic and Bouie scored 32 and 21 points respectively.

Logic and Bouie, who have quickly become one of the highest-scoring tandems in the state, are averaging a respective 22.8 and 18.6 points per game for the Eagles.

Case will step out of SEC action Tuesday, traveling to Milwaukee Custer before the holiday break.

Honorable Mention

Wally Ellenson, Rice Lake: The junior guard/forward has been outstanding for the Warriors so far this season, averaging 25.5 points per game. In back-to-back victories over Chippewa Falls Friday and Altoona Saturday, Ellenson scored 26 and 25 points to lead Rice Lake to a 5-0 early season mark and 2-0 in the Big Rivers Conference.

Theresa Kunutson, Onalaska: The Hilltopper forward may just be a freshman, but Knutson has already made her mark on the state girls hockey map. Through seven games this season, she has tallied 17 goals and eight assists, including a seven-point affair of five goals and two assists in Onalaska's most recent victory over Black River Falls.

East Troy Boys Basketball: The Trojans, ranked No. 2 in Division 3, used its size to knock off Division 2 No. 11 McFarland 59-51 Friday to remain unbeaten at 5-0 in the Rock Valley North and 7-0 overall. Sophomore forward Brett Prahl led the team with 22 points, while guard and classmate Nate Dodge sunk a trio of triples to score 19.

Beloit Memorial Boys Hockey: The Purple Knights knocked off the Whitefish Bay Co-op and Big Eight rival Verona last weekend to improve to 5-0-0 in the league and 8-0-0 overall. Against the Wildcats, Beloit opened on a Kolin Hamilton goal assisted by Casey Bellard in the first half, but needed a Hamilton-assisted, Tyler Caple overtime goal to steal the 2-1 road victory.

Osseo-Fairchild Girls Basketball: The Chieftains improved to 6-0 overall with a trio of solid wins to boost their season resume. Tuesday Osseo-Fairchild knocked off Glenwood City 69-36, then beat Cloverbelt West rival Altoona 46-36 Thursday and Middle Border contender Durand 50-42 Saturday. The Chieftains had an incredibly balanced scoring attack in those games, with four different players scoring in double figures.
