Ryan DePouw, Oconto - DePeow's scoring ability is quite apparent as the 6-3 senior foward leads the entire state in scoring with over 30 points per game. In the month of January, he averaged exactly 30.6 points per contest and boasted a string of four straight games of at least 31 points. His season high came in a loss to Kewaunee where DePouw went for 40 of the Blue Devils' 59 total points scored, but Oconto can always count on a steady high-scoring night from DePouw.

Cody Hanke, Marathon - Consistency is Hanke's greatest feature as the Marathon senior guard/forward scored between 19 and 29 points the entire month of January. Hanke averaged 24.2 points per game last month, leading the Red Raiders to a perfect 11-0 Marawood South league mark and 18-0 record overall. Hanke's average of 25.2 points per contest rank him No. 6 in the entire state.

Chad Mazur, Reedsburg - The 6-3 senior wing has quickly shot up the scoring list due to a very hot January streak that included three games of more than 30 points. Mazur subsequently tossed his name into the hat of Mr. Basketball contenders early in January with a blistering 51-point victory over Portage that included eight triples, then came close to repeating those efforts with a 43-point outburst in a tight win over DeForest.

Jameel McKay, Milwaukee Pulaski - City Conference foes have payed much attention into stopping the Milwaukee Pulaski star, but few have effectively done so. The 6-7 senior forward averaged 28.5 points per game in January alone--all of those points coming against league competition. McKay schorched Milwaukee Washington for a season-high 44 points, and put up 32- and 28-point bookends to the month against Morse-Marshall/Juneau and Northwest. The Rams are 10-6 overall on the season.

Ben Stelzer, Roncalli - Stelzer seemed to want to send January off with a bang, putting on a clinic at the WBY Border Battle in St. Cloud, Minn. The Michigan Tech recruit torched Roncalli's like-sounding Minnesota-ranked opponent Rocori for 41 points en route to a 64-54 win. That output upped his monthly points average to 27.2 points per game to lead the 17-1 Roncalli team atop the Olympian Conference again this season.
