Gabrielle Ortiz, The Prairie School: She may just be a freshman, but Ortiz has already put her name on the Midwest Classic Conference map with a quad of 20-plus point performances in February. The Prairie School guard scored 22 and 24 points against Kenosha St. Joseph mid-month and added a second pair of 20-point games to close out the regular season against Martin Luther and Kenosha Christian Life. Ortiz, who currently ranks No. 21 in scoring in the entire state this season, has aided The Prairie school to a .500 season record through 20 games and a No. 2 seed in the Hawks' Cudahy regional.

Kenzie Perttu, Green Bay Preble: With Perttu playing her best basketball of the season, Green Bay Preble is a dangerous team. The junior guard scored her 1,000th point aginst crosstown rival Green Bay East just a couple weeks ago and torched opponents for almost 21 points per game in February alone. In a pivotal FRCC matchup, Perttu recorded a season-high 33 points in a tight 64-55 win over Sheboygan North and helped grant her Hornets the #4-seed for next week's WIAA regional competition. With a season average of 20.84 points per game, Perttu currently ranks No. 10 on the state scoring list.

Breland Prochaska, Fennimore: Prochaska is listed as a guard for Fennimore, but the junior does a little bit of everything for the Golden Eagles. Most prolific was Prochaska's scoring in the month of February, recording 26 points against defending SWAL champion Cuba City and 30- and 31-point performances against Darlington and Riverdale to close out the month on a very high note. Also a 1,000-point scorer this season, Prochaska has consistently added almost six rebounds, four assists and four steals per contest all season while leading her Golden Eagles to the top seed in the Division 4 Brodhead regional.

Chelsea Rhodes, Young Coggs Prep: Her Eagles squad may not have a very strong win-loss record, but Young Coggs Prep has quite a scorer in Chelsea Rhodes who currently ranks second in the state with 24.33 points per contest. Consistency has been Rhodes' best quality this season, scoring no less than 19 points (in a blowout win over Salam) and topping out at 29 in a tough win over Milwaukee North in February alone. Rhodes has also found success from downtown, scoring eight 3-pointers in the final three games of the season.

Avery Steen, Luck: Steen has quickly become 'the little engine that does' for Luck as the sophomore guard has already scored a single-season school record 530 points this year. In the Cardinals' nine February games, Steen tallied over 26 points a contest and surpassed the 30-point mark three times against West Lakeland opponents. Steen was deadly from behind the arc, tallying 23 3-pointers in February alone, but also got to the line over eight times per game. Steen, which currently ranks No. 3 in the state scoring race this season, has scored a whopping 49.8 percent of Luck's overall points this season.
